Q: What do you do with extra Christmas cards?
Finished the official list, wondering about giving them to neighbors. My sister used to make tiny gift boxes with them. Any other ideas?
A: My Mom used to save the cards that were given to us and make Christmas placemats with them. She would cut out around anything that was 3-D looking or a pretty flower, scene, etc. and arrange them where they slightly overlapped then either modge podge them or lamenate them. One year she used card stock and taped them on it then got some of the thicker lamenating sheets that was more like sticky plastic and did it that way. We somehow always lost them between Christmases so it was a fun activity.
A lot of times we just kept the ones we didn't use until next Christmas, or stuck them into the wrapping of each gift we gave.
Q: Do you save your favorite christmas cards in a letter box?or toss all cards out after the season?
I save most of mine
was wondering if most ppl toss em in the garbage after the holiday is dried up and blown away
A: I throw them away
Q: What do you do for Christmas cards?
Do you get individual cards from Hallmark or buy boxed sets at store of your choice? Or do you make your own with rubberstamps?
A: I buy them from Hallmark! I just love hallmark cards!
Q: Ideas for our Christmas Cards?
I'm going to be putting my son inside a wrapped box (a present) for our Christmas cards. Any clever ideas for what I could write on them?
A: Picture on the outside.
On the inside, "...but the real gift is the birth of our Savior."
After all, it's what Christmas is all about.
Merry Christmas (a little early).
:)
Q: Has Christmas made an appearance in your town yet?
Our local pound shop has boxes of Christmas cards, and Sainsbury's already has mince pies and loads of tins of Quality Street etc. Annoying.
A: yes, morrisons had advent calanders in and matalan had xmas trees and decorations in
Q: How early is too early to start preparing for Christmas?????
I work in retail and was looking in our stock room at work the other day. What to my wondering eyes I saw some Christmas cards in a box that are to go out on our shelves towards the end of July!!! Can you believe this?? How early is too early to start preparing for X-mas!??!
A: I stock up on gifts year round.. whenever I see a good deal on something I know someone would like. But I don't think stores should start decorating till the first of November.
Q: What do you do with all of your Christmas mail you received?
I don't like to toss them away. I usually save them year after year.I now have two boxes filled with past Christmas cards, letters and pictures!!
Do you save, toss them out or recycle them?
A: I donate them to the diversional therapy department of the nursing home where I work. They use them for craft sessions. Anyone who doesn't know where to donate them to, any nursing home would be happy to take them.
Q: What can I get my friends for Christmas?
I have about 10 friends that i want to get gifts for, and we are in middle school, so we aren't going to spend alot of money. I was thinking of filling a small box with their favorite type off candy, a Christmas card, and something else, but I can't think of what. What would be a good item to put in the box with the other presents?
A: well, there's this store in my town, which is actually a pots and pans store, which sells packets of 10 tissues and each packet has one letter of the alphabet on it. So, for example, my name is Emma, I would get a packet with an E on it. They're really cute and cheap (like $3.00 a packet) and they come in different colors too (my mom got me one, in pink)
Q: Does Anyone Know Where I Could Order Some Christmas Cards Before Christmas?
Because I Can't Find Any Nice Ones.
They Have To Be Christmasy
50 In A Box
A: Amazon, eBay, studio cards.
Q: How should I organize all these clothes??
I have a whole bunch of clothes I stuck in garbage bags since we're staying in the same city. It's just overwhelming -- I have a bunch of janky hangers, pants and shirts my husband no longer likes/fits, summery type stuff, etc. etc. It's just overwhelming. Where do I start? Should I just buy all new hangers so they all match and hang the same? Luckily in our new place, there are 4 walk-in closets. I don't want things scattered, yet I don't want to keep clothes we're not going to wear anytime soon.
Also, I have boxes of Christmas cards dating back as early as 1995. I'm not much of a packrat, but what to do with Christmas cards/old pen pal letters from the 90s? The last thing I want to do is add clutter to our brand new home.
Not to mention, I have pictures dating back from 2002 that need to be in albums! What's a quick way to organize these and stick them in?
Thanks!!!
Miss Clutterbug
A: Go through a bag or two each day. Fold the ones you don't want and put back in the bag. Launder and hang the things you want to keep. When you are done going through all the bags, take the things you don't want to Goodwill. As for the cards go through them and pick out the ones you like the most and either put them in a scrap book or photo album. Good luck!:)
Just take your time and don't overwhelm your self thinking it has to be done all in one day.
Q: Christmas Cards - Did you know?
People, do NOT send a card to this address. It WILL be returned to you! They absolutely will not give anything not addressed to a specific soldier because of possible security breaches!

Pay close attention to the second bulletin in the summary at the very top.

DO send cards to:
Holiday Mail for Heroes
P. O. Box 5456
Capital Heights, MD 20791-5456
A: Yes. I did. I posted that on another question, because last year, someone sent it to me, by my email, and of course I thought it was a great idea, unitl I looked into it. But I am glad that they have a new address now. I will definitely send some.
Q: What would someone in the armed forces like to find in a christmas box?
As part of our secret santa this year, we are also putting together christmas boxes. We were given a list of ideas of things to put in them. Like cards, toiletries, chocolate, etc
But we were wandering if these were things you'd want to find in your christmas box?
Any suggestions?
A: My Dad spent Christmas in Iraq one year.
While clothes are nice the soldiers are on duty 24-7 and can only wear their uniforms. They get bored over there a lot over they like to receive new DVDs. They also love beef jerky and other such comfort foods but if you send food keep in mind that it is really hot there all rear round so stuff like chocolate isn't good to send. Some air freshener is also nice because it stinks like a sewer there all the time. They also like a nice card thanking them for their service (think about how you would feel fighting for your country's safety and the media was turning it into a joke).
Q: Used Christmas Cards. I WANT THEM ! Any ideas on where I could put my name to get people to donate them to me?
I cover boxes with them, make disposable childrens books out of them, re-cut and make new Christmas cards. I just don't know how to ask folks for them without sounding like a kook ... ideas? any bright ideas as to where I could put my name out there to get them? This is legit. As fewer people send cards, it's harder to get them. eBay sell vintage lots (which I love) but that is spendy. What I don't use I pass on to teachers who use them for crafts in class.
I will use advice for next year also as I realize it may be a bit late for this year.
A: Put an ad on craigslist requesting old/used christmas cards.
You will get lots of responses.
I know it works because I have put an ad on craigslist and I got too many responses and now I have too many used christmas cards I can handle. I can donate alot of them to you for free. Just contact me on my nickname.
Do you accept religious christmas cards by the way?
Q: When buying Christmas cards....Do you buy them individually or in bulk boxes???
A: In bulk boxes.....but I buy two or three boxes, so that I can mix 'em up....I don't want Aunt S and Aunt J getting the same card....that would be tacky :)
