Q: What's the size of the world's largest Christmas/greeting card?!?
We've tried contacting the Guinness Book of Records but with no luck. Ideally we need details of how big it was, what type of card it was (we're guessing it was a Christmas card but really have no idea) and where it was. Thanks!

A: The biggest I've seen are these cards they sell at Hallmark that are about 2ft by 1.5ft when closed. I'm sure if you made one the size of a house you could win something.

Q: Hoe do businesses makes greeting cards, wedding, christmas, birthday, etc.. ?
Do they use like a press to get indentations, and fancy cut outs? i need to know how people make cards... i think i know what printer to use, but cant get my head round the actual details.. e.g how to put a rose on the card but actually feels it sticks out (uneven) stephen you couldnt tell me what the actual machines are... (brand, cost, etc) ;)

A: The effect of a 3D image is produced by an indentation. Basically: 1) the image of the rose is printed onto the card. 2) a metal stencil the exact shape of the rose is made. 3) at a very high force, the metal stencil is stamped behind the image of the rose. The rose (and other details) is printed and then stamped on from behind. Hope this helps.

Q: How can I announce my pregnancy on my Christmas greeting?

A: you can say "happy holidays (or whatever) love, _______ and the new baby." or you can put a pic of the ultrasound (if you have had one to confirm the pregnancy) and say "meet the newest member of our family!"

Q: Do you save old Christmas cards or other greeting cards?

A: Yes, I save almost all of them. Why I don't know, but then I go back and look at them and it brings back some good memories. I recently found a Christmas card from many years ago from a woman who used to be my babysitter. It was a Christmas tree that held dimes in it. There was one dime still left in it. The dime had turned very black. We cleaned it up and it was dated 1965. It was probably new when it was put in. I don't even know how I've kept that card all these years through I don't know how many states and moves. I do treasure it though. I also have cards from relatives that have long passed away and it's nice reading the cards and remembering loved ones.

Q: Which do you prefer, Christmas cards or Greeting E-Mails?

A: Greeting E-Mails...

Q: How do you feel about greeting cards?
For birthdays and holidays and such? I rarely buy them for people. The only exception is Christmas cards. The reason being is that they are usually sappy rhetoric that people just slap their name at the bottom and underline a couple key words. They are meaningless. Especially for young children. I mean they can't even read yet but everyone always buys them birthday cards! Why? Then I have the task of deciding when is the appropriate time to throw them away. There is no personal sentiment or attachment but I feel guilty throwing them away as soon as I read them. This sounds like a bunch of sour grapes and I really don't waste that much of my energy on the matter but still.... can anyone tell me what the deal is with greeting cards? I just don't get it, except that they are a convenient replacement for a more personal, yet time consuming, hand written note.

A: I think you've hit the nail on the head. Some cards, if you spend the time to search for ther right one, can be meaninful, especially if you add your own personal note inside. But for the most part I find them a waste of time and paper too. For christmas, I usually just get those little stick on cards that say "To" and "From" on them and keep it at that. For the people really close to me, i'll either make a card or buy one and write a nice note inside. For birthdays etc I have stopped doing that unless it's somebody I am close to. Personally, I just throw out every card I get right after the person leaves, unless it's a meaningful card from someone close to me. I used to save them, but then the pile got so big and for no reason. What am I to do with them?? They eventually get thrown out anyways, so I figure better sooner than later and save myself the mess.

Q: How do you make a christmas photo greeting card with many different pictures on it?
small different pictures displayed on the front of the card

A: If you are printing them yourself or sending one collage photo in to be printed, you need to make the collage in a photo program or an image editing program. You would need to make a background the size you want the finished product to be and then layer in the different photos you want placing them where you want them to be. It doesn't take a complicated program. I do mine in a photo editing program that came with my camera called Photo Impressions. Once you have the collage you can print the cards yourself or upload to a place like Kodak Gallery and have them print the collage.

Q: CAN ANY 1 PLS HELP ME TO SEND GOOD CORPORATE WRITE - UP FOR Christmas Greeting card !?
Pls send me some good write - up / wordings for Christmas & New Year Greeting for corporate client. Pls send me at the earliest. Thanks a lot in advance Kindly send me at the earliest

A: Really depends on how much space you have available. But the shorter the better, really. In my cards this year, I simply handwrote: "Thanks for a great year! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!" Cards aren't the time to be elaborate -- they're an opportunity to show your clients that you remember them and are thankful for their business.
