Q: My boyfriend and I have a very cool idea for Christmas cards but I don't know how I can make them.?
We want to do a card with movie reel tape going down each side, with pics in each square. We then want a Christmas photo and greeting in the middle. Most of the computer programs I have seen don't have anything like that. Does anyone know how I can make this or where I could go to get help with it? I can picture it, but I just don't know how to make it! Thanks!!

A: Well, you can maybe make something like this at CropMom (http://www.cropmom.com). Upload your photos and use CropMom's graphics to create your card. You can download the low-resoution verison of your card as a JPEG for free. You can purchase the high-resolution JPEG of your card for a small fee.

waste of time, thoughtful, cheaper than presents?

Q: How to make a Christmas card scrapbbok?
Have old Christmas cards on hand, I would like to make a scrapbook. Don't want to throw the cards a way, keepsake.

A: Its easy. Go to any craft store and purchase a scrabook. Its for a christmas theme, so look for a few christmas embellishments, stickers charsms what ever looks good to you. Take christmas cards, cut out the picture or around it. Glue it on to the scrapbook, cut out the message on the other half of the card glue it in the page also. Do some journeling and well=a, its done. You get better ideas as you go. you can also find ideas on the internet, just trype in Scrapbooks and watch all searches come up. Its fun...

Q: Any ideas on how to hand make christmas cards?!?
Would be glad if you could provide me instructions on hw to do it. I do not want websites that need me to order the cards or in simple words, pay them for the cards. thx!

A: By hand made I'm not sure if you mean from scratch or like creating a card yourself. In case it's the latter. You can use Microsoft Word to make a card. Just choose the page size in File->Page Setup, then split the page into two equal columns using the Format -> Columns option. Then add your text and images. You can then print it on any type of paper you want.

Q: I want to make my own christmas cards this year?
using my computer and clipart. Is there a special printing paper I can buy in order to not make it looks so cheap??

A: I would suggest calling a local printing company and seeing what they would suggest. You might be able to buy one package of their paper to print at home. You'll definitely want a card-stock - heavy enough to hold a nice crease. Also... before you print... make sure you have envelopes that will fit!

Q: Christmas cards are arriving to addressed to me and my soon-to-be ex-husband- how should I respond?
My husband left me about 6 weeks ago and I guess he failed to mention the situation to some of his family and friends. Christmas cards are starting to arrive to both of us and I don't know how to respond. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Should I just ignore them or send a note explaining what happened? I wasn't planning on sending out any cards this year. Thanks!

A: Awwww, Amy. Well, the decent thing to do would be to reply them and gently break the news. Merry Christmas.

Q: how does making your own christmas cards make you be more sustainable?
there is reasons because it saves paper and youc an recycle them but what else how does this effect the environment or just how is it more sustainable

A: I don't know. Why don't you Google it?

Q: where can i find directions for making a bell out of old christmas cards?
my mom died in june and i have all the old christmas cards she had sent me over the years. i heard there was a way to make a bell out of old cards, does anyone know how to do this? or i would be interested in making anything else with them except place mats or putting into frames to hang on wall as my wall space is limited. any and all help will be lovingly appreciated. thanking you in advance. fran

A: Christmas Bell Take construction paper and fold it in half lenghtwise. Cut out a shape that looks like half a bell. Repeat this step 2 more times. Take all 3 bells and glue them together at the fold. Open them all up. You can take some thread and have it go through it, it will make an excellent decoration to hang.

Q: How can I explain to friends that I'm stopping sending Christmas cards?
I would like to make this year the last one that I send Christmas cards out to friends and family, my thoughts are that I would prefer to make a donation to a charity of my choice each year instead. I was thinking of putting a slip of paper into each card I send this year with an explanation on..... BUT what do I write??!!! HELP!!

A: a lot of people l know are doing this and are sending emails instead cards get thrown out after a while so not only are you going to suport a charity but have helped save trees and the enviroment someone is bound to object but you can not please everyone all the time you just have to do what is right for you.....[l am doing the same by the way]

Q: Can You Tell Me Some Good Websites Or Programs That I Can Download To Make MY Own Christmas Cards???
I Would Like To Make Christmas Cards This Year....But I Dont Know How Or What WebSites To Use.....Can You Tell Me Some Webites??? Thanks & Merry Christmas!!!

A: Try microsoft publisher, they have many template options that don't require much setup. You can get the trial at microsoft.com and it's fully functional for I think about six months so you won't have to pay for it.

Q: Did you make your own Christmas cards as a child?Do your children.?
I did and so did my boys and they loved it.My Grandsons don't yet I expect that they would like to - we used to make some at school even and then I continued at home - lots of paper paste and glitter in my hair!

A: Yes they do well my youngest does still, we make them at home, not just at Xmas for other occassions as well I enjoy doing it with my son and he always makes me little cards just for nothing and he'll just leave them for me to find which really touchs me and if were upset with each other he writes me a little note to say sorry it makes me laugh when he does it.

Q: How do I write in a christmas card that the company won't give them any present and make a donation instead?
How do I write in a christmas cards for clients that the company won't give them any present and make a donation on their behalf instead?

A: Be careful about making a donation to a charity on a client's behalf. For one, not everyone supports every charity. There are even some cancer charities that some people won't support because they test on animals. You risk isolating your clients by putting their name on a charitable donation they don't believe in. You should make it clear on the card that the donation has not been made in their name, but in lieu of a gift. Write something like, "In the holiday tradition, a donation has been made in honor of our clients to NAME OF CHARITY." Best of luck. I think many if not most of your clients will be happy to not have another gift basket or trinket to clutter their desk.
