Q: quick i need a christmas craft!?
I nanny for a 13 month old and a 7 month old. I need a christmas craft I can do and have finished by TOMORROW afternoon. It's their "gift" to the parents. Handprints... don't turn out so hot... they're more interested in squishiiinnng the paint in their hands and smearing it ALL over the paper instead of making nice neat hand prints (lol who can blame them?) Help!!!

A: How about a handprint wreath on canvas? Green Paint, handprints in a circle (or something close) use a finger tip with red paint for holly berries. Hang with a dowl and red ribbon. Bad handprints are sort of expected. You could get some flannel, or fleece, and let them walk in paint, then on the fabric. cut and tie the edges for a throw blanket.

Q: What are some inexpensive, and "GREEN" Christmas ideas for fun crafts and homemade decor, for the outdoors?
I tie bows around the trees in a Holiday color. I paint pinecones in peanut butter then dip in birdseed for the birds, then tie ribbon to the pinecones and attach to our tree. I cover all planters in holiday colored wrapping paper. I add red candles, a evergreen wreath, I decorate the windows in brightly colored squares, top w/ a bow, some ribbons, and a tag, to resemble presents. I wrap the other doors in gift wrap.

A: You've got me stumped, but very good question

Q: What are some good crafts a 9 year old can make for arts/crafts show?
This show is held in early December, and is heavily attended. There is a place for kids to set up booths and sell their wares. I'm trying to help my daughter think of things that would be good sellers with a decent profit margin. Help me brainstorm! So far we've come up with: - bookmarks made with marbled cardstock (she'll do the marbling) - Christmas greeting cards - dishsoap dispensers like Martha Stewart showed the other day, made of small wine bottles and a liquor spout (if you think this is a good idea, do you know where to buy those small fancy bottles that wouldn't cost that much?) - homemade paper (doubting she has the time or energy to do much of this) Even if you can't think of anything, I'd love if you would take the time to comment on the ideas we already have, including what you think would and wouldn't sell to a "country style" crowd just before Christmas, and what you would think the items could be priced. Thanks a lot for your help!

A: You have some great ideas there already. One idea I did with my daughter for a Christmas craft fair was. We had a spin art machine and my daughter did the spin art on Cards and put envelopes with them and they sold like crazy, more than my stuff and she had a lot of fun making them and getting money for them. You can sell them single or grouped together with a tied ribbon.

Q: Would anyone check my spanish paper?
I had to write a final copy for my spanish class on how to make a christmas craft. We have to present it to the class but I just wanted to get my paper checked over. We had to use at least 10 formal command verbs with some negatives in there and pronouns. I just wanted to know if it sounded okay and if I used the right verbs. This is what my paper was based from. http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-box.html And this is my paper. Q: QUICK!!! 10 POINTS! Fun crafts for kids that are cheap!?
my mom gave me a job at her day care which is craft class for children for like 4-8 or something.. so i need ideas that don't need special paper or utilities to make them. Actually il tell you what things i have: 1.special sissors . 2.Glue. 3.colored paper 4.paint and paint brushes 5.real sissors 6.Party streamers. 7.Tape 8.Markers. 9.Beads 10.Yarn 11.Foami 12.tooth picks 13.christmas wrapping paper.. 14.Creativity ;D so what kind of DIY crafts can i make whit these?

A: make jewelery by stringing together beads & paper beads [they can make beautiful paper beads from the color & wrapping paper you have] decorate the tooth-picks --- cut the foam into some nice shapes & pierce the toothpick through it. it'll make nice "heads". you can use the special scissors or cut into bird, cobra, star, circle, ..... paint or glue beads, etc. origami stars [wishing stars] or snowflakes out of paper. greeting cards, bookmarks, name-cards, etc. just keep wrapping around the streamers on a stick/pencil/ruler in the form of a Xmas tree. decorate with foam ornaments & beads. hope these get you started

Q: Practical, easy crafts with fabric scraps and corks?
I'm making crafts to raise money for charity at the school Christmas fair, but me and my partner have very little money to buy new stuff with, so we're using scraps of fabric and other things that we have lying around to make things. The fabric pieces are mainly remnants from sewing projects and vary in size, some are tiny and some are quite large (the smallest being something like 5x5cm, the largest about 40x40cm). We also have A LOT of old corks, some craft papers, paints, beads, and cardboard etc. We need to make practical things which will appeal to middle school/high school girls. And the only equipment we have is a sewing machine and PVA glue. I was thinking of making fabric bookmarks by zigzag stitching fabric around a strip of cardboard, but I tried it out and it didn't look very good. So any ideas would be very much appreciated!

A: you could make bracelets. i'm not sure if it would look dumb, but elastic is cheap, so you can buy some elastic, cover the corks with fabric, punch holes in them using wire (a wire hanger?) and put the elastic through them. it could look cool...maybe?

Q: does anyone have a unique christmas treat/candy they make every year?
i love covering things with chocolate! i'll share one of my best treats and you share one of yours. take double stuft oreos (may have to warm them for a second in the microwave) spin a sucker stick up in the filling (careful not to break cookie), freeze for 15 min. to let filling harden, spoon melted chocolate chips or bark over it until cookie is coated evenly, lay on wax paper, embellish wih sprinkles, crushed up mint candy or those sugar decos for cake that come stuck on paper sheets. freeze till hard then put top part in a sucker bag and tie with ribbon. it should look like a giant chocolate sucker. (you can get sucker sticks and bags at walmart in craft section or in craft stores). every i know loves these, coworkers loved them so much they paid $1 apiece for them, $12 dozen.

A: Peppermint Bark Crushed candy canes, to yield 1 cup 2 pounds white chocolate Peppermint flavorings, optional (Paula says use about 2 teaspoons, to your taste) Place candy canes in a plastic bag and hammer into 1/4-inch chunks or smaller. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Combine candy cane chunks with chocolate (add peppermint flavoring at this point if desired.). Pour mixture onto a cookie sheet layered with parchment or waxed paper and place in the refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm. Yield: 2 pounds of candy

Q: Is this a good Christmas present?
For my kids grandparents I was going to help them make a calender from construction paper and make a different craft to glue on for the picture of each month. Do you think this is a good idea? What are some other things my kids could make for Christmas presents? They are 4 and 2 Thank You!

A: That's real nice. Palm prints in clay are always nice too. I'm surprised at how misty I get looking at my (18yr old, now) 5-year old's clay impression, now...
