Q: Christmas Craft for Kids?
I'm planning a Breakfast with Santa Event. It'll have arond 250 kids. I need to do some kind of craft after the movie. There's a few stipulations: 1. It has to be quick because the parents are ready to leave right after the movie, no glue, scissors, etc. There's not enough time for them to sit down. 2. It has to be simple enough for young kids 3. It has to be fairly cheap Last year, I did Reindeer Food. I want to do something different, but along the same lines. We already had the oatmeal and glitter ready and they just poured it into the bags and tied the little poem on. Something as simple as this. Thanks.

A: Eatable Christmas Trees Take a cone shaped ice cream cone and cover the outside with green icing. Put different colored candies, ju jubes, smarties etc. on the icing. Sprinkle coconut on the icing too! Instant eatable Christmas tree! or visit this site they had some fairly easy ideas. I like the styrofoam snowmen. http://crafts.kaboose.com/styrofoam-snowman.html

Q: i have four kids and i am looking for cheap ideas for doing crafts for christmas with them.?

A: I just made cinnamon ornaments with my daughter the other day. They smell great and I can't wait to decorate them. :D That kids domain link down there had a whole lot of Christmas craft ideas. They even have coloring pages to print out. :D

A: Here are some Christmas Craft Ideas - Christmas Crafts - http://www.craft-kits.net/christmas-crafts.htm Crafts - http://www.ornament-shop.net/holiday-recipes.htm (under Crafts) Most are very simple and inexpensive to make (some use household items) Enjoy!

Q: Christmas fun ideas for toddlers and kids?
I am looking for some ideas for crafts, decorations, and activities to do with young kids and toddlers or things they might enjoy. I am crafty,. but nothing too hard! Thanks and Merry Christmas!

A: Make a bunch of hand cut outs from green construction paper (or that foam sheet stuff at craft stores) and put them in a circle to make a wreath. You could make Reindeer Chow (do not eat it though!) to sprinkle on the lawn for Christmas eve: 1/2 cup oatmeal each child 1 tablespoon glitter per child Put in a zip bag and shake to mix up. Sprinkle at night on the lawn or snow and it sparkles for Santa's reindeer! For preschoolers you could cut stockings from foam sheets or felt and punch holes around the outside (not across the top) and have them lace with yarn. (you could use a piece of masking tape on the end of the yarn instead of a yarn needle to lace with). Then you could put a special treat in each one to send home. Use christmas stamps or cookie cutters to make them from potatoes and make wrapping paper on large sheets of blank paper or a shirt using a T shirt or sweat shirt. Use poster or acryllic paint for paper and fabric paints for shirts. Get some plain white plates. Put their foot print in brown on the plate and their hand prints in a darker brown for antlers. Use red to do a nose and glue on two wiggle eyes (or paint the eyes on with white and black paint circles) and make a reindeer plate to hang up on a plate hanger for decoration. It will preserve their foot and hand prints in a fun way! Use candy canes and twist a brown pipe cleaner at the bend for antlers, glue on a red pom for the nose and two wiggle eyes and make reindeer ornaments Make ornament cookies. Use slice and bake sugar cookie dough and bake to package. Mix up 1 cup confectioners sugar and a couple teaspoons of milk to make a thick glaze. When the cookies are cool glaze them and sprinkle on colored sugars to make ornaments. Make votive holders. Put glue on a small glass (clear work best but you could buy frosted ones) and then sprinkle glitter over the glue to create holiday swirls and designs. Give each child a votive candle to put in it and they have a gift for a parent or special person at the holiday. Make potpurri and then divide it up into bags to send home if in a group or just set out in a bowl. 1 bag cinnamon pinecones (check craft type stores in about a month) 2 packages of cinnamon sticks broken into 3-4 inch lengths 1 jar of whole cloves 1 jar of anise star, whole 2 oranges, sliced and dried (use a dehydrator) 1 large apple, sliced and dried (dehydrator) Mix carefully together and you have a citrus spicey potpurri for the holiday season String bells on elastic thread and tie to make bracelets that jingle. Buy green and red fleece that is a solid color (or you could use felt). Measure the child's head and make the base of the triangle fold in half and secure the seam to the tip. Roll up the bottom a little. Glue rick a rack (sewing notion) around the fold up and attach a jingle bell with thread to the tip to make an elf hat. For toddlers you could could do the feet and hands like a reindeer on folded consruction paper. Write a christmas greeting inside and include a picture of the child so they can send a special card to grandmas or family they don't see often. Use the wooden cut outs (snoflakes, hearts, stars, bears, etc..) in holiday shapes and paint them. you could use a small drill to make a tiny hole at the top of each first and when the paint is dry string some ribbon through to make ornaments. Make your own moose munch. Make your own carmel corn or buy a box of fiddle faddle (or similar popcorn) with no nuts. Add in 1 cup of chocolate chips or M&M candies, 1 cup of mini marshmallows, 1 1/2 cups of miniature pretzels . Combine the mix in a large bowl. Perfect for a party or to bag up in decorative bags or containers for giving. Make a batch of rice krispy bars and cut out in holiday shapes with cookie cutters. (If you dip the cutter in some warm water between cuts it makes it a little easier to press through the bars) Make salt dough play dough (2 cups of flour, 1 cup salt, enough water to make a soft dough, food coloring). Make one red, one green and one white. Roll into snakes (2 different colors) and twist to make swirled ropes. Bend over the top and let dry to make a candy cane decoration. You could also use cut out shapes that are holiday related with cookie cutters and make ornaments with them. Takes about 1- 2 weeks to air dry so plan ahead on this one. Use metal juice can lids (from the frozen juices) and put dots in patterns that are snowflakes, a candle, etc. Use a sturdy surface (like an old board) that can't be damaged and use a hammer and nail to make tin punch ornaments. Make an extra hole at the top for a ribbon. This is better for older kids around kindergarten or older though and definitely with supervision. The marker dots can come off with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol when they finish. Use foam cut outs of snowflakes, stockings and other christmas related shapes and some red wooden or plastic beads that are kind of big. String the beads 5 in a row and then a shape, 5 beads , shape etc... to make a garland to hang over a window, doorway or on a tree. Make red and green paper chains and count down from December 1 to December 25 for christmas by tearing off one link each day. Get a pine cone for each child and smear peanut butter around the cone. Roll in bird seed and tie on a string in a loop to the top to make a bird feeder. Use oranges and whole cloves, punch the cloves into the orange all over and make a pomeander ball. Make their hand print on white paper and turn upside down so the fingers point down. Draw a santa face where the palm would be. Put on a red hat from red paper and a cotton ball for the top of the hat and across the base of the hat. Carefully roll the fingers on a pencil to curl into different lengths to make the beard. Buy some wooden cut outs that are pre finished so you have 5 of each in two different designs. Use a thick piece of foam craft sheet (1/2 inch) and cut into a 14 inch square. Section off into 9 squares on the square with marker and then glue festive ribbon over the marker lines with craft glue. Let dry. Use the wood pieces to make a tic tac toe game. Print off christmas pictures on card stock for the kids to color. Be sure they have 2 of each picture. Cut apart and make a memory game. You could also use the wood cut outs (2 of each) for toddlers. Get pre finished ones and mount with gorilla glue or hot glue to a foam board. Add a piece of self adhesive velcro to the TOP of the pieces you put down (one of each) and the opposite side of the velcro on the BACK of the other pieces to make a match game for toddlers. Cut out a snowman shape from the foam type poster board for each child so the snowman You should be able to get 2 per board if you go side ways on the board. Use a sharpie marker to trace the outline of the hat, scarf, face, etc.. Use large buttons for eyes, mouth and buttons, a cut out felt carrot for the nose, use old kids hats (they could bring one they don't use anymore or you could scour thrift shops to get enough) to put on the snowman and you could either use old scarves for the scarf on each or cut wide strips of fleece fabric and fringe the ends a bit. Check remnant bins at craft and fabric places to get pieces at cheap prices for this. Have them decorate a snowman. You could use the scrapbook large glue dots to put the stuff on with. It will be less messy and easy for kids to work with. When they finish use a dowel rod (1/4 inch round) to mount to the back of each to poke in the ground to stand up their snowman. Adhere with hot glue.

Q: Anyone tried these Christmas crafts?
These are the ones I want to try with my little one: http://www.helium.com/tm/743624/hustle-bustle-christmas-season I'm mostly interested in the CD's as we have a stack of them sitting here useless that my hubby never threw away. Have your kids done this craft - and how did it turn out? Did they do both sides or is it better to do just one? I was wondering if anyone's got any good ideas that aren't listed here, too? 10 pts for the coolest craft - besides the CD one!

A: My granddaughter took some old CD's and decorated them up using glue, glitter, paper, and cotton. She strung them up with fishing line and has them hanging in front of her windows. They reflect the light and look pretty cool. If you are looking for more crafts, try FamilyFun.com as they have hundreds of crafts (with photos and step by step intructions) and have them by age and type. Good luck and happy crafting.

Q: Good xmas crafts/activities for kids?
I am looking for some ideas for a 7 and 9 year old to do for Christmas crafts or activites for them. Besides for them decorate cookies or stringing popcorn, I really can't think of anything else for them to do. They love to do crafty stuff and all but like I said, I'm really drawing a blank on this one. Any ideas would be really appreciated! Oh and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!

A: Make choc. chip cookie jars or other holiday treats. This web site really helps me. http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=996

Q: Kids Crafts?
Anyone know any good crafts for kids 6-10 that arent very expensive? I like to do crafts with the little ones i babysit we have already done : soap, picture frames, and cookies. Supplies isn't a big deal and if It could a christmas present for mom and dad that'd be fine too or a holiday craft..

A: Get a sack of those clear flat back "marbles", the kind you put in plants and flower vases. Cut out small images from old magazines and glue to the flat back so the picture shows through the glass. Beacon's Liquid Laminate is a good product to use as it dries fast and clear, otherwise white glue will do, just takes longer and may not leave the image as clear. Once you have accumulated a lot of these little picture marbles, Glue them to a piece of Masonite or MDF about 8" square and fill in the spaces with grout. You will have a unique hot pad/trivet for Mom. This same technique can be used on flat picture frames. They can be made more personal if a couple of the marbles have photos of the kids behind them. These marble pictures also make excellent refrigerator magnets.

Q: Making Christmas presents with kids?
Give me all of your ideas for home-made gifts, I have a 7 and 3 year old, and they want to make Christmas crafts. We have done baking (probably have to do more...they like their cookies, LOL) We have painted flower-pots. I need more ideas!!!! Thanks!!!

A: One year I made throw pillows and let my son put his hand prints and sign his name on them for all their grandparents. Another year, we made all the cousins matching snowmen shirts using some lids for the circles and a couple of foam snowflake stamps. We also found a ceramics studio where my kids painted something for everyone. I thought it would be neat to buy one of thos frames with the extra large matting for signatures and let the kids draw on it with their picture in the middle.

A: decorate your own stockings-ex- put your names with glue and glitter. make your own gift bags or wrapping paper with sparkles and red and green paint start with plain white bags and wrap paper. another favourite's is decorate x-mas cupcakes, cookies, and make a gingerbread house. Q: Cool Christmas Craft Sites?
Anyone know of any sites out there that have Christmas crafts for kids to make? Around 5-7 year old.

A: This site has some fun ideas. Merry Merry!

Q: What would be a homemade cheap Christmas gift that my kid's teachers and therapists would appreciate.?
I'm trying to think of nice ways to remember the special people who work with my kids at Christmas. I know there are alot of hokey crafts you can do and I'd like to give them something more than a box with a generic poem or picture they painted. What would be a craft you've received that was homemade that you truly appreciated and enjoyed? I tried hot cocoa jars one year and the mixture didn't blend right when heated. Sometimes the recipes I find for jars aren't so tasty. Any great ideas? I know it's early but I'm trying for a low stress Christmas where I can have time to enjoy things.

A: I make these for all my friends' kids' teachers every year and the teachers love them. Holiday pins made from polymer clay. It is much easier than you would think. The craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby have booklets to show you how to condition and roll out the clay and contain patterns for pins or ornaments. You can make good use of Christmas themed cookie cutters to help you make them. Each pin will cost between 25 and 50 cents to make and that includes the pin back. If you prefer, the same design can be made into an ornament.

Q: Quick Christmas Crafts?
I need to make money with out spending too much. I want to make some homemade crafts to sell at a X-mas Bazaar. there will be little kids and older people there. What are some good things to sell or make? if possible give me a link that shows a picture. i can sew and draw and very artistically creative.

A: Paper bag albums, accordian albums, scrapbook in a box, handmade note cards (use your drawing skills for these), pocket books, organizers, etc. Check your library for some great craft books. I'm not a sewer but I've seen lots of easy crafty type things in books. Good Luck!

Q: i need some ideas for some Christmas crafts i can put in stockings?
for kids ages 6- 12 women and men any suggestion will help thanks

A: Try going to your local dollar store and looking in the toy aisle. They have all sorts of little trinkets you can toss into stockings for kids that age. Little toy soldiers, fake make-up, mini coloring books, crayons, etc. Some of them even have little craft ideas. Like charm makers, friendship braclets, jewelry making, widdling, stickers, etc. Try the Rag Shop or other craft stores. Ask an associate for ideas. Have fun.

Q: holiday crafts... what can i do?
my 3 1/2 year old daughter is autistic and the only halloween crafts i can find online are seemingly way too old for her. she can paste and cut (sorta) and can color (not in the lines or make anything that looks like it should)... i've always dreamed of making halloween and christmas crafts with my kids but i cant find anything that she will want to do that wont be too hard and make her frustraed and upset... any suggestions?? a website anything??? right now we just color pictures but i would like to put something up on our windows other then a few misshappened (although adorable) pumpkins... someone please help me make this fun for my baby

A: Here is some interesting recipes and ideas in links below. I am thinking doing potato stamping would be fun.. Stamping can be done on paper, fabric, paper bags etc.. Consider doing large cut out shapes and finger paints.. Hang in window. Collect leaves and hole punch string on yarn and hang.. make carmel apples. start collecting pine cones with the potatoe stamping you can cut the shapes out in colored paper and carve the potate to accent the cut out shape..
