Q: Does anybody know where I can get replacement light bulbs and cords for my old plastic Christmas decorations?
I have Santa Claus and Rudolph for inside, and two large candles for outdoor decorations. They are just plastic with a hole in the back for a light bulb with a cord on it. I need to replace the lightbulb and cord set. I've been to Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. and can't find anything like that. Is there anywhere online?

A: If the items still have tags or you kept any boxes paperwork that came with them..contact the company that made them by calling or looking them up on the web. They may have the replacement items you need. If not.. This sounds like a bulb with a clip that holds it in place to me..I would search on line ..major hobby shops, lighting repair places. If all else fails you might contact a small household item repair shop..that repairs lamps..they might be able to redo the wiring for you and fix a new type of fixtures to fit..just be safe with wattage and not cause a fire.

A: The correct term for the plastic things are "blowmolds" (I am not trying to embarrass you, only assist you with the correct term if/when you discuss them with other enthusiasts). If you are looking for decorating hints, you should consider membership in the PlanetChristmas forum. There are many international members that discuss questions like you asked. As the members are all Christmas Decoration enthusiasts, they are more than willing to cooperate and assist you in your quest for mini lights, rope light, blowmolds, etc. One benefit of lurking on the forum is to find out which ebay blowmold sellers are scammers. There is a great deal of discussion and policing of auction sites. You learn where to find the best deals on the out-of-production blowmolds. YA limits the number of links that can be posted. www.christmascave.com.au www.aussieclaus.com.au www.christmaskingdom.com.au www.christmascreations.com.au
