Q: Charity to adopt a family and donate Christmas gifts?
Last year I found an online charity where families who can't afford Christmas for their kids post things they need and then you can pick a family and meet up with them to give them gifts. Now I can't remember what it was called? Any idea?
I was thinking of the Yahoo group Christmas Wishes, but that's only in Pennsylvania. is there something similar in Florida?
A: Check out the food court at an outlet mall - you're bound to find someone needy.
Q: is your child giving christmas gifts to everyone in class, including the bullies?
my 7-year old and i were making a list of people to give christmas presents to. and he said he wanted to give gifts to everyone in his class (there's 14 of them). i asked why not just his closest friends. and he said that he wants to give gifts to the mean kids, too, so they won't bother him anymore.
you can imagine how shocked i was at this bullying revelation! but i'm handling that (you can bet i am!). what i want to know is if my son has a point about giving the mean kids gifts at all.
A: If you're going to give gifts out, I don't think it would be a very good idea to skip the bullies. Yeah, they're bullies... they're probably doing some very mean things, but if the other kids suddenly got presents, and they didn't get anything... it would probably give them another reason to be even meaner to your son. I know I'd feel pretty bad if everyone else got gifts but me.
Q: In US how do people give Christmas gifts to their colleagues ?
Usually do people give the Christmas gifts to their colleagues in person, or try to do this without seeing the recipients, like put the gifts on their desks before leaving from work, or put in their mail box? Could you explain a little bit why some way is more popular then the other? Thanks!
A: Yes we do.
Did you just like go to the usa well any way yes
Q: I need help thinking of good christmas gifts for an 11 mouth girl ?
My school does christmas baskets every year. That means each class homeroom get a family donated by a church and the family members are divided up by the class. I got an 11 mouth old girl and i need good gift ideas. keep in mind they are kind of poor so they also need necessities gifts such as a blanket.
A: I'm assuming that you do mean "months" and not "mouths" and I suggest that you get some clothes that are a bit bigger in age so she can get some decent use out of them as well as clothes that are suitable for next year, like summer clothes.
Also as you suggested a blanket is a nice idea as well as a cuddly toy.
What about a few items of non perishable food as well. This would benefit the family as well.
Good luck.
Q: What are appropriate , reasonably priced Christmas gifts for 9 and 12 year old girls?
I have a really small budget but they are the children of my really good friend and I'd like to get them something at Christmas. Any ideas for gifts costing $20 or less? As always, I ask for serious, polite and constructive responses only. NO point gaming , advertising or attacks of any kind. Thank you.
A: I'm 14 but maybe I can help.
For the 9 year old how about a Bratz doll? I always liked playing with those. They run from about 15-20$. Or something Hannah Montana like her new Cd.
For the 12 year old what about some jewelry or a movie? I was picky at this age so maybe a GiftCard to the mall, or an Itunes giftcard if she has an Ipod.
If you really aren't sure what to get them, just get them a Giftcard to the mall, I always loved getting that.
Q: What are ways one can save money when shopping for Christmas Gifts?
Late November and the month of December is a busy time for retailers nationwide in the United States as Americans purchase Christmas gifts from both family and friends. Although this is the time of giving back to others, as a result, many Americans spend more than they can afford, charge too much on their credit cards, and go into debt with their charges.
What are some suggestions you would give to a friend in order to save money during the Christmas Season?
A: Use only cash - you'll spend a whole lot less and you'll be guaranteed not to go into debt.
Q: How should I design my Christmas gifts?
Hello! I don't have much money for Christmas gifts this year, so I decided to home make them. So far I've decided I'm going to take pictures on a disposable camera, get them developed, and decorate them/make a Christmas frame. Or something like that. Does anyone artistic/creative have any ideas what to do with a photo to make a good present? I'm not good at art like that. Thanks.
A: Anytime I've given a photo as a gift it is either a picture of something dear to me, or to the person receiving, or both. Just keep it simple. Of course u have to be good with the camera to capture a moment, but that's up to you.
Q: How do I buy a lot of Christmas gifts with little money?
I love buying people gifts for Christmas! I'm a college student so that means that my funds are low! I would like to get my boyfriend a lot because he spends a lot of money on me but, I dont want to spend "a lot" of money. How do I work this out?
A: Think thoughtful gifts rather than expensive ....notice the little things he might need.
I remember getting my ex one of those bath robes that only goes around the mans waist ( sought of like a big towel with Velcro) He loved it for many years and it was CHEAP !
Do you have any craft skills??? How about making him something ... Can I suggest a no sew fleece blanket or pillow ???There really cute, warm and you can buy the fleece cheaply at Walmart. here some instructions http://www.howtoadvice.com/Preview/Vuhwjb
he res one with pictures http://www.womenbygrace.com/home006.html
How about a nice picture frame with a nice picture of you two...
You can get creative and make him up some "coupons" they could be for love , snuggles, or a home cooked meal.
how about making him a nice tin of homemade chocolate chip cookies?
Q: What's the etiquette about mail received Christmas gifts?
So if you receive the gifts before Christmas, what do you do?
Do you open them right away?
Put them under the tree?
Ask the sender?
Or what?
A: Typically - you can do this:
Call the sender to let them know the package arrived safely, and presents are under the tree. If they want you to open them early, they will tell you.
Open on Christmas (or Christmas Eve, for some of us) and send thank you notes by mail as appropriate.
Q: What are some cool cheap christmas gifts?
I wanna buy my friends some gifts for christmas. Its 4 girls and one guy. The guy is my boyfriend something sporty or clothes or something. For the girls something girly and funky. Any idea's? And some cheap. Or maybe some homemade gifts. I was thinking for my best friend i could make her a scrapbook of the two of us? Does that sound cool?
A: yes to the scrapbook, those are the best kind of gifts. Shop the sales for clothing items for your boyfriend. I find a lot of good ideas just walking through the stores and seeing what they have, rather than looking for something specific that may or may not be on sale.
Q: What You Can Do With Your Unwanted Christmas Gifts ?
As much as we would love to adore every single present that we get, chances are we won’t. Those gifts can end up sitting in the back of the closet collecting dust and taking up space
Merry Christmas & New Year!
A: I would and have in the past given them to charity.....ho ho ho
Q: What can I make for Christmas gifts?
For Christmas, my best friend and I have decided to make each other Christmas gifts rather than buy them. We're both in our late teens. I'm quite arty and can do most crafts. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Q: When Do You Open Christmas Gifts In Your House?
Everyone runs a little bit different. I know of some who do it at midnight on Christmas Eve (when Christmas technically starts), some do it on Christmas morning, and I know some who do it on Christmas evening.
When does your family do gifts together?
A: On Christmas eve morning we each open one present then the whole family gets together at my sisters house for Christmas eve dinner and we open presents there then we visit my husband's family and open a couple gifts then on Chrismas morning we open a bunch of gifts then we go to our church and open some gifts after the play then we stop by my mother in law's and open presents and finally we open presents at my mothers house after Christmas dinner.
Q: What are typical Christmas gifts given to a child in Mexico?
I am teaching a group of students a lesson on Christmas in Mexico. From what I have read about Christmas in Mexico, Christmas is still really celebrating Christ's birth! I love that! In the United States, so much emphasis is given to gift-giving from Santa. Do children in Mexico expect lots of gifts like in the USA? Are the gifts big and elaborate or small and meaningful?
A: I have family that lives in Mexico....Actually, the schools there give out a lunch sack filled with apples, oranges, and nuts to each child. Also, when I moved to texas 5 miles away from the Mexico border I was in High School and our school in the United States did this same thing...I guess fruit baskets are a common gift in Mexico.
Q: How old is too old to expect Christmas gifts but not give any in return?
All these teenagers conjuring up extensive lists of namebrand items and complaining when their Christmas loot didn't include every last thing they lusted for - it got me thinking. I know parents and immediate family members don't expect a gift when kids are young, but at what point is it just considered immature and thoughtless to expect hefty gifts without giving to others in return?
Merry Christmas, everyone!!
I didn't mean every last teenager acts this way, just to clarify.
A: I started giving christmas presents when i was officially a teen, a few christmases ago. I don't buy wicked expensive ones, but special, little things that people always enjoy, like soap or something for a collection they have.
