Q: Christmas Gift basket help?
I am putting together gift baskets for Christmas, I want to do an icecream type theme, I am thinking of calling it a Summer in December basket (opposite of the saying Christmas in July). What do you think, do you have any other ideas?
I am putting in cones, waffle bowls, nuts, hot fudge sauce, caramel, cherries, sprinkles, maybe a gift certificate to get the ice cream. What else should I include?
A: Definitely put in the gift certificate to get ice cream, I mean, afterall it is about ice cream, right? Or you can put in a giftcard. Along with the items, maybe add chocolate (some people put chocolate candy like food/kisses on their ice cream). Overall, I think you have enough in the basket but try to add a gift certificate/giftcard! Love the idea!
Q: What all should go in my Christmas gift baskets?
So my hubby are a little tight on money as we are trying to save all the money we can for our little one on the way.
However, that won't make me skip Christmas, we just have to be a little creative. I have decided that for our families we are going to make fun and yummy filled Christmas baskets. So I need as many creative and yummy ideas that you have! I've already thought of fudge, hot chocolate, ginger bread men, etc But what else would make this basket perfect for our moms and dads? Thank you!!

This is a must for our family, you can make several different flavors and colors and then tie different colored pieces in cellophane for a festive look. *yummy too*
Broken Glass Candy
confectioners' sugar
3 3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups light Karo syrup
1 cup water
Food coloring
1 teaspoon oil flavoring (available at pharmacy
in flavors such as cinnamon, anise,
wintergreen, spearmint, lime)
Sprinkle confectioners' sugar on 2 (15 x 11-inch) cookie sheets.
Combine sugar, Karo syrup and water in heavy saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue to cook, without stirring, until syrup reaches 290 degrees F on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat and add food coloring to desired intensity and the desired oil flavoring. Pour onto cookie sheets, cool and break into small pieces.
Makes 2 1/4 pounds.

Q: Suggestions for Christmas gift basket for boss and wife?
I always make a basket or unique container stuffed with home baked goodies but, I would like to include something new and interesting this year...any ideas?
She doesn't cook and they don't drink? The flowers are a good idea, but I have done the candles in the past as well as gormet coffee. I do my own homemade candies and goodies so, what else could I put in there?
A: I always prefer a bottle of nice wine, plus some cheeses, and some nice fruit (like grapes, peaches, cherries - seasonal).
It's classy and fits both the wife and boss.
Or, you can go to ProFlowers and just get one of those pre-made wine/fruit baskets with specialty fruit. Always unique.
Good luck.

Q: christmas gift basket raffle?
i was thinking that a cute idea for christmas eve would be to have a raffle for small gift baskets. i don't have that much money and our extended family will be coming over. i think there should be a couple of baskets. everyone is aged 4 to about 60. there are lots of parents in their 50- 60s and then theres some 20 year olds. a couple of teenagers. a grandma whose in her 80s. and a 4 and 8 year old. how many gift baskets do you think i should make? and what themes should they be? =) thankyou and happy early holidays!
A: The amount of baskets you make depend on three things How much money you have to spend, How many people are going to be there, and how many people you want to get a basket.
For the 4 and 8 year old you can make them their own special basket with a coloring books, crayons, stickers, stuffed animal, and a small toy or you can just have the baskets for the adults.
Basket Ideas
Santa's Goodies-Hot chocolate, Christmas Mug, and homemade cookies and other sweets.
Gingerbread-Gingerbread cookies, Gingerbread man cook book, whisk, and a gingerbread scented candle.
Cold Winter's Night-Fleece Blanket, hot chocolate, Christmas mug, candle and or a pair of one size fits most gloves
Movie Night-Popcorn, candy bar, soda, cheap Christmas movie, or tickets to the movies.
Christmas-Small Christmas decorations, ornament, hot chocolate, Christmas mug, Christmas CD or Christmas movie.
You can buy everything I mentioned from the Dollar Store and try to buy items that you get more then one item so you can use it in more then one basket like the hot chocolate.
Edit: My husbands family have a raffle every year and then the money is saved and used for the following year for food, drinks, baskets for next year, etc. so one person isn't stuck paying for everything and so they can plan for next year and get items when they are on sale.

A: - bookmark
- sticky notes
- clip on book light
- chocolate
- pretzels

Q: What other Marinated Cheese recipes can I put in my Christmas Gift Baskets?
Someone gave me the idea to include Olive Oil Marinated Feta Cheese in my gift baskets that already include: Homemade pickled garlic, homemade honey butter, rum butter, bread, and Rice Crispy treats.
I loooove the Feta cheese idea however, I found out that feta cheese is pretty exspencive. Do you think i can use Cheddar or jack? Or do you know a similar recipe for something along the same line as marinated cheese?
A: How about:
Marinated Mozzarella
1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon parsley, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
1/2 cup strong olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Cut the mozzarella into 1-inch cubes. Place in a bowl. Add the parsley, basil, oil, and lemon juice and toss to coat. Let sit at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours before serving.
Q: Christmas for Dad Gift Basket?
I work at a floralshop/wedding planning agency. My boss has agreed to help me design my father a really nice giftbasket full of stuff he loves for christmas. Problem is, I have no idea of what to buy him to put in the gift basket. Hes very hard to buy for, but I do not want to get him a giftcard. I got my mother small things for her giftbasket, plus a spa day. I would like to make a "dad version of my mothers gift"
A: It seems like all dads are difficult to buy for. Maybe put a couple of magazines in his basket and if he likes puzzles (jigsaw) or crossword or search a words. Cd's or DVDs are a possibility also
Candy or other treats are nice also
Have fun
