A: In today's culture, we just do it to have our houses look pretty and compete with the neighbors for who has the best display. But it was started back in the midevil period when people lit candles to light the world up for jesus. And it evolved into the highest electricity bill of the year.

Q: How can I hang Christmas lights from my brick house without drilling holes in the brick?
I don't want to drill holes in the brick.
A: I actually use Velcro spaced about 6 inches apart. Place the sticky end on the brick and the Velcro part around the wire. Sometimes it come off on a windy day but it pretty much holds. Then when your ready to take them down the sticky part comes off the brick easily.
Q: how to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?
The outside of my house is Paneling so there is no wood to hammer in nails or even staples. I want to put the lights around my windows so how do i do this? Is there any kind of tape for the outside that snow or rain wont ruin?
A: Are your windows flush with the paneling? If not, then you should be able to buy clips that will clip onto the sides of the windows. Go to any store that sells lights to find them. If not, you can put the lights on the inside of your windows, where people will still be able to see them from the outside.
Q: How do I hang Christmas lights on our house?
I've never done this before.
A: you can buy clips to put on the edge of your roof so all you have to do is hang up the lights and make sure the plug is close to an outlet or you can also use nails.
Q: I have a light socket stuck in one of my christmas village house decorations that lights up, how to fix?
This is one of those decorations that has the village with the cotton that the figures and houses sit on.
A: if you're saying the glass part broke off and a socket is still screwed into the fixture, you can get it out with a piece of potato. just be careful, and jam the potato into the socket, then unscrew it.
Q: Christmas Lights: No Outlets in front of house?
Hi All, My house does not have any outlets in the front. I do have exterior spot/flood lights in front. What is the best way to hook the lights (Ice sickles, 2 light up motion deer, an LED sleigh, and tree trunk wrapped with red mini lights and topped with clear LED mini lights.) Thanks for any help!
last year I hooked up to one of the spot/flood sockets, is it ok to do so.
A: Yes it's OK to plug into flood light socket. I hook mine up to one of my porch light sockets. It makes it convenient because I can turn on the lights by turning on the porch light switch inside. You don't have much there so nothing should overheat.
Q: If my Christmas tree is bigger than yours or I have more Christmas lights on my house does that mean…?
….I’m a better Christian than you. I sure hope so, I want a good seat in heaven, not the nose-bleed section.
Christ be with you sinners!
A: I got an African American Nativity Scene and Caucasian Nativity Scene in my front yard and Redneck Angels on my roof soooo I am a way better Christian than you. Bleed Tim Bleed! I think the nose-bleed section still has beer so you should manage. Cheers from the box seats!
Q: why dont we keep our christmas lights on the house all year long?
doesnt it make you feel better when the lights are on at christmas , shouls we keep them on all year round
A: because then they're not Christmas lights.
Q: Do you think Jesus still love me if I do not put up Christmas lights outside my house?
Why do other people do it?
A: Christmas is about a lot more than Christmas lights and today's modern commercialization of it. Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, God on earth, who died on the cross for our sins.
God's love for us is unconditional, however as a righteous judge who must uphold the truth he must punish those who do not believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior since they are separated from God. God loves the sinner but must punish sin. However, Jesus paid our sin debt in full so those who truly believe in him are free from the penalty of sin.
In closing, putting up Christmas lights or any type of decorations is a personal preference and God's will love you unconditionally regardless of what you choose.
Q: I need help with hanging outdoor Christmas lights in high places on the house!!!?
I'm hanging some Christmas lights this year for the first time on my new house. Need some ideas and help! My house has a very high peak (one that can't be reached by a ladder) and I need ideas on how to get the lights up to that peak? Is there any tools I can buy (like an extender or something) that works good? Any ideas on how to accomplish getting lights up on a house peak?
A: If you can not crawl to the top of the peak, or if you are only trying to lay them on the peak (as opposed to beneath the shingles at the peak), then you can use an inexpensive extender for cleaning pools.
Depending on the height you need, you can purchase an 11 ft extender from Home Depot (it will sell for about $15 and come with clips).
Use the attachment from the Home Depot part and attach it to your pool cleaning extender and you will be able to drape lights where you need them.
Otherwise, you can rent a long extension ladder from a tool supply rental firm, or a bucket truck, lift jack or other device to get you to where you need to be.
