A: That's kind of corny but if she is a girl with good humor write something funny on it or if you guys have any insiders relate to that on the ornament. This way it takes away from the corniest and just makes it cute and funny.

Q: photo christmas ornaments?
how do i put a photo on a christmas ball, not inside but maybe decoupage??
A: Are you using a glass ball or the kind that you can push straight pins into? I've seen photos on the second kind of Christmas ornaments. Straight pins had a bead (or beads) and perhaps sequins on them and then pushed into the ornament around the edge of a photo. Longer pins could be used so as to be able to put more beads or trinkets on the ornament.
As for putting a photo on a glass ornament-- perhaps it would be a good idea to paint the ornament on the outside or put paint swirls on the inside so as to not see the back of the photo through the ornament? You could use double sided tape to adhere the photo to the glass and perhaps put glitter glue around the edge of the photo to hold the edge down and add sparkle. You could also glue trinkets and sparkles around the ornament to add to it!
Q: Does anyone know where I can customize Christmas ornament balls?
For my Christmas themed wedding, I am giving red ornament balls with my fiance and my name and a picture on the other side. I have already designed it on one website, but the minimum order is 100 and I probably will only need like 70. Where can I find a reliable website that I can order less than 100 ornaments?

Q: wheir did the traditon of ball shaped ornaments come from?
hey guys christmas is sooner then you think and my tree is going up tommorow(thursday) i cannot wait, anyway its always been a mystery to me wheir ball shaped ornaments came from and why their so popular on christmas trees?
A: HIya Mets,
You ask a great question! The origins of both the Christmas Tree and Ornaments alike have come from traditions, from all over the world. It appears that the ornaments themselves became popular around the late 1800's, and were first imported from Europe, namely Germany.
I found some great resources for you:

Q: I am looking for wholesale source for satin styrofoam ball ornaments.?
I have searched and searched but can't find a wholesael source for satin covered ball ornaments. I want the styrofoam center, not plastic center. Have only found The Craft Place but they are retail and way high in price. These things used to be sold every Christmas at every store. Now, nowhere. Any help is appreciated.
A: Try eBay, under the category General Art & Craft Supply. They have 120 listed right now. Only one of those is an auction. The rest are "buy it now." Which means you don't have to wait.
Q: I am looking for a Christmas tree ornament to make this year that is pretty, not tacky.?
Every year I make a batch of Christmas ornaments for our tree and then fill in with store bought balls and plain ornaments. This year I am having a hard time finding anything I want to make. Any ideas?
A: One person's idea of beauty is another's tacky, right? =) But here are some ideas I found that I didn't think were too bad (and there ARE bad ones out there!)

Q: Painting the inside of a glass ball ornament?
I want to make some ornaments for my Christmas tree this year. The problem is I need them to be all different colors and the already colored balls won't work. So, I have three questions for all those who know about this kind of thing:
Can I jut pour paint into the ornament and roll it around?
Would I just end up with drip marks when it was dry if I did that?
After painting the outside, is there something you can put on it to keep it from chipping off?
Thank you :)
A: Instructions for painting the insides and other ideas at the sites below. (I have some of these ornaments - very pretty.)
