Q: what do you put in a christmas trees water?
what do you put into a christmas trees water to make it more greener or live longer because i know for sure you put something in it and im quessing vinegar but im not sure
A: The people who previously stated that by using 7-Up/Sprite or any other softdrink that contains citric acid are correct. The sugar and citric acid mixed with equal parts of water and adding a drop of chlorine (prevents scum from forming in the water) will help keep your tree lasting much longer. Make sure the water in the reservoir remains filled with the solution the entire time you have the tree in your home. Lemonade (pulp-free) can also be substituted for 7-Up/Sprite.
NOTE: If you really want to extend the life of your tree, I'd strongly recommend using a product called "Cloud Cover". It is an anti-transpirant designed to cut down moisture loss through the leaves/needles of trees as well as protecting plants/trees in your yard from frost damage.
I've sprayed "Cloud Cover" on my Christmas trees and it's kept the Christmas tree green and fresh looking until New Years. You can find "Cloud Cover" at some of your hardware stores or by purchasing it online.
It really is amazing stuff!
Hope this information was of some help to you. GOOD LUCK!

A: The memories that each ornament holds of Christmas' past.
Q: What do you think about stores calling Christmas Trees Holiday Trees?
I think it is so dumb that they call them Holiday trees. How many other holidays at this time put up a tree and decorate them? None that I know of. So it's a Christmas tree.
If you celebrate a holiday that does put up a tree and it's not Christmas, let me know.
A: It's wrong I see this as people enjoying the holiday traditions of someone elses faith and making it their own. If you feel you are unreligious and want to celebrate during the month of December then make your own traditions but don't put a spoof on someones customs and religion. I see this as the stores wanting to reach a mass market rather then even caring about the meaning behind the Christmas tree.
The fir tree has for many years been associated with Christianity. It started in Germany 1000 or so ago when St Boniface converted the German people to Christianity. As the story goes St. Boniface came across a group of pagans who were worshipping and oak tree.and in anger, St Boniface cut down the oak tree and to his amazement a young fir tree sprung up from the roots of the oak tree. This is how this became a sign of Christian faith.
The triangular shape of the Fir Tree describes the Holy Trinity of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. People started to revere the Fir Tree as "God's Tree". The tree has became a symbol of Christianity, and was being hung upside-down from the ceiling as a sign of Christianity. So actually when you saw those trees in stores that were upside down that was the original tradition.
16th century is when fir trees were brought indoors at Christmas time.
Q: Why are pine trees used as Christmas trees instead of other kinds of trees?
Is there any other reason for pine trees being chosen as christmas trees others than the fact that they don't loose their leaves in the winter (coniferous)?
A: Well, there are other kinds. There are Norway Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce., Alberta Spruce, some forms of junipers, etc. They are conifers however, because Christmas trees are a German custom originally, and they have lots of conifers in certain areas there.
Q: What are some of the most good looking Christmas trees you have seen in Christmas movies?4-11-08?
What are the names of the Christmas movies where you have seen some of the most beautiful decorated and good looking Christmas trees.
A: Home Alone.
Q: Why do we have ball balls on christmas trees?
Why do we have ball balls on christmas trees? and is it spelt ball balls or not?
A: They are spelt Baubles and were invented to replace the fruit which people used to hang on their trees but which ovisouly did not last very long.
The fruit is there because the tree started by representing the tree in the Garden of Eden on Christmas Eve, which was counted as the feast of Adam and Eve.
Q: Fake Christmas trees-What are fake Christmas trees made out of?
What are artificial Christmas trees made out of?
A: What's the point of a fake christmas? If you feel that way, don't get a tree!
just kidding. It's plastic, usually poly urethene
Q: I thought Christmas trees were supposed to be cheaper in the summer?
I want to buy a prelit artificial Christmas tree and was thinking of doing it during the summer, thinking that they might be cheaper. But, I don't really see them much less. Any sites I should check?
A: Christmas trees are cheaper at the day after or day before Christmas sales. Sometimes there are "Christmas in July" Sales. Seems to me that HSN and QVC both have events like that, as well as some stores. Good Luck!
Q: is it possible to re-grow christmas trees from snipped branches?
i know that some plants can be regenerated that way, and i was curious if you could do it w/ a christmas tree.
A: I haven't tried it so I couldn't tell you for sure, but I would guess no. Trees can be grafted but I don't think they can grow from trimmings in the same way leafy houseplants can.
Q: Should those who oppose nativity scenes and Christmas trees work on Christmas?
A few malcontent libs grouse every year about nativity scenes and Christmas trees. If they are "offended" by this why don't they truly walk the walk and work on Christmas day? And, why aren't they petitioning to have Christmas Day defrocked as a holiday? Can't have your cake and eat it too!
A: Last I looked at the Constitution, there was no right NOT TO BE OFFENDED. Those who are should just SHUT UP.
Q: What's the difference between the Lenox china : Spode Christmas Tree and Christmas Trees around the World?
I'm looking for the 1991 Spode Christmas Tree annual plate and I found one on ebay listed as "Lenox Annual Around the World Christmas Tree Plate".
Anybody know the difference?
A: The Lenox Spode Christmas Tree from china is not a true evergreen conifer since it is not a members of the genus ‘Abies’.
It is actually a sub-tropical plant from eastern Asia and more along the lines of the houseplant by the name ‘Norfolk Island Pine’.
Most places around the would use true evergreen fir trees at Christmas time such as the Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir and the Colorado Blue Spruce...
THIS IS A GARDENING SITE not a place to find out whether or not you have crappy china ;-)
Since I made up my answer about the conifers from China and I don't know anything about Lenox China - you might be better off checking in a different category.
Hope you find your answer. It would be a bummer to get ripped off.

Q: How long to Christmas trees usually stay green?
We wanted to get our tree in a week, approx 3 weeks before Christmas, do you think that it will remain plush and green?
Do you know of any tricks to keep it "fresh" looking?
A: Hello,
Most freshly-cut Christmas trees will remain green for several weeks. If you're cutting your tree yourself, any kind of fir will last through New Year's day and maybe a little longer. They'll have soft needles, too.
Spruce trees will last just past Christmas Day; they usually have sharp needles.
To keep your tree fresh, you just need to make sure it keeps drinking water. No special additives will help, they'd just waste your time & money. When you get your tree home, just make a fresh cut across the bottom, about 1/2". This removes the seal of sap that has leaked out while journeying from field to home. Then put it in a stand that holds a lot of water, using nice warm water for the first filling. After that, just check morning and evening, and fill it up if needed.

Q: Corner or Half Artificial Christmas Trees - have any of you seen one? Do they look really weird?
I'm determined to find a Christmas Tree that fits my needs. Struggling to get the Christmas tree positioned in the house that doesn't disturb traffic flow is such a challenge. I've been thinking of replacing my old tree with one of those corner or half Christmas Trees to see if that solves the problem. Have any of you seen them? Do they look really bizarre or do they look pretty good? Anyone know?
A: i have seen these trees , and they do look good ,and they don't take up a lot of room
Q: Are the stumps from christmas trees good for firewood in an outside fire pit?
Someone close to my area is selling christmas tree fire wood. We have a pit outside to burn it. Is this type of wood okay and good to burn?
A: As long as you burn it outside. Pine has a lot of creosote in it that gets in your flue. It binds to the sides and can catch on fire and burn down your house. Not a Good wood to burn in a fireplace, firebox, etc.
In an out side pit it will burn long and good if seasoned. Seasoned means dried for a certain time.
Q: Christmas trees:Do you think getting a tree is for nominal Christians and not bible believing ones?
I am reconsidering getting a tree this year because it really has no relevance to the true meaning of Christmas; which is Jesus' birth of course.
Please don't get nasty, just your 2 cents.
Thanks.
Also if you will please also state your level of commitment to your faith.
I am a Bible believing Christian. I guess it wasn't clear.
A: Firstly the biblical reference to cutting down a tree is about idolatry . It talks about a piece of wood being cut from the forest, then a craftsman working on it, then it being covered in silver and gold, then erected and worshipped. Nothing like a Christmas tree. The earliest Christmas trees were hung with fruit and nuts.
Next - the origin of the Christmas Tree. There is NO record of any pagan religion ever erecting and decorating a tree. The earliest references are from 16th century Northern Europe, well into the Christian era.
The 24th December used to be the feast of Adam and Eve - it still is in the Orthodox church - and a prop in the mystery play performed on that day was a paradise tree
.http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/442528/paradise-tree#tab=active~checked%2Citems~checked&title=paradise%20tree%20--%20Britannica%20Online%20Encyclopedia
One of the earliest descriptions of a Christmas tree is set up outside a guild house - and the guilds were the people who funded the mystery plays. I have heard that the plays started with Adam and Eve but ended with the birth of Christ - the second Adam.
