Q: Where can I find similar Christmas tree ornaments?
I need something very very similar to these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=230195239126&Category=33868&_trksid=p3907.m29#ebayphotohosting But not on Ebay. Any ideas where? I think Pottery Barn may have some, but I'm thinking their wicked expensive.

A: I know this sounds weird but I'm pretty sure I saw some similar ornaments at Long's Drugs yesterday. Sometimes the "cheaper" stores have nice looking ornaments at low prices. The ones I saw were definitely the same color as the ones in the link you've sent. But, I think that they might have had more of a ribbon design than the beaded design. Not sure...A box of 10 was about $10. Also, I saw these at Sears.com, and they are similar to your link (but not as nice!): http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_07185687000P Not sure where you live, but in our town, we have a LOT of home decor stores that sell these kind of nicer ornaments. Try a local "boutique" type home store. This is the link to a store in my town that sells beautiful ornaments. Unfortuantely, their site is still under construction. But you can try to contact them, or a store like them, and see if they carry that ornament. http://www.thedecorstore.com/Default.aspx Hope that helps. mari

Q: Dried up magic marker Christmas tree ornaments.?
My son's school is decorating a tree with a "Go Green" theme that will be displayed at a mall with many other decorated trees. I'm gathering ideas of ornaments I could make. I need an idea of what kind of ornament we could make with dried up magic markers. I have about 30 of them I need to turn in to sort of ornament. Any suggestions out there? And any suggestions of other ornaments we can make will be appreciated. Thanks!

A: Stars-Lay the markers out so they are shaped like a star. Then glue or tape them together. Attach a bread tie to it and hang. Tree-Take three markers and cut the tips off. Then glue or tape them together in the shape of a triangle. Decorate the tree with recycled materials like the marker tips for lights, scrap fabric, etc. Then either leave it how it is and hang from a bread tie or take a picture of each child and attach or you could have the kids draw pictures and attach them to the marker tree. Snowflake-Arrange the markers to look like a snowflake and then tape them all together and hang. Edit: I just noticed you wanted other ideas as well so here are some more. Other ornaments you could do is take a empty clean blush contaner with mirror. Make a tree from old cardboard and decorate it. Tie a piece of left over yarn or old shoe string to the back and hang. I won first place with this one. Christmas card ornament-Take an old Christmas card and cut out different shapes from the card. Punch a hole at the top and Hang with a bread tie. Egg carton angle-. Take one egg cup and paint it. Take thin metal and glue plastic bag pieces to it for the wings and then glue it to the egg carton cup. Have the cup with the flat side up. Then take a milk carton lid and paint it for the face then hot glue it onto the cup. Finially take either yellow bread ties or pipcleaners and make a halo and attach. Attach yarn or an old shoe string and hang. Snomen -Take a crystal light lid and old frabric. Cut three circles, a hat, and two arms for sticks. Glue them outo the lid and add button eyes taken from old clothing, orange dried up marker tip for the nose and cut small circles from a magazine for the mouth. You can glue on some stuffing from an old pillow or blanket for snow. Punch a hole at the top and tie a shoe lace onto the lid and hang them. If you like anymore ideas email me.

Q: do dead mice make good christmas tree ornaments?
my cat is getting too fat and i don't want to throw them away and let them go to waste...

A: Absolutey. It's nice if you get those little fake eyeballs put into them.

Q: How do I save my XMAS tree ornaments from my dog?
We have a lot of interesting Christmas tree ornaments on our tree. Some are old seahorses, crabs, and stuff from Florida. Some are soft. Anyway, last year, our Beagle barely acknowledged the existence of our tree (it was real) and this year it's fake and he's eating stuff off the tree whenever we leave the room. How do I get him to stop without beating him to death? Do you think the real tree had an odor that repelled him in some way?

A: Well dont beat him to death...lol... they make a no chew spray at pet stores you could try that or just be stern and make sure he knows he was bad when he chews, also the real tree deff. has an oder that might have blocked the smell of the other things so it might just be the tree like you said

Q: Ideas for *very safe* Christmas tree ornaments?
I have a baby and a dog who are both into everything. I need ideas for nice tree decorations that are non-glass, non-pointy, non-sharp, non-swallowable, non-enticing-for-dog (e.g. not made of food), and as non-breakable as possible. We already have an LED-lighted tree, so at least I don't have to worry about bulbs. Looking for either store-bought - or - I can sew and do most crafts, so I'm willing to make them as well.

A: felt shapes, don't use glue because pieces can be sucked off, I suggest cutting out the shapes you want in appropriate colours, stuff them if you like, embellish by sewing felt or fabric pretties on with strong thread. I also suggest keeping them up a little higher. Also make strings of yoyo's. They are a circle of fabric, sew a running stitch around the edge of the circle, pull it up into a little puffy thing, you can stuff them and sew a button over the small opening where the gathers meet, with very strong thread. make many of them in many bright an shiny fabrics, sew them together, in a string and drape them over the tree or room, etc. If using buttons, best to keep them out of the little ones way. You can omit the stuffing and button, just sew the opening tightly. They will look just as good, but a bit safer for dog and baby. Also I would suggest making a basket of the same items, or stuffed fabric goodies for junior and the dog (separate baskets of goodies of course), to play with so they may just leave the real decorations alone. Just a thought. Distraction is better than a messy room and accident prone disaster area. lol have fun coz time is running short

Q: Do you have any unusual Christmas tree ornaments . . . the kind that make people wonder what the heck is that?
We have an doggie chew toy from the kid's dog when they were children. It has a red ribbon around it and a picture of "Molly" in the middle. Of course, the dog is long gone now, but the memory lives on through this unusual ornament. What's the strangest ornament on your tree this year?

A: My husband has a petrified turtle turd that I tied a plaid ribbon around. It's kinda heavy, so it's on the stronger branch. On the top he puts this creepy animated angel that reminds him of a little boy that died, from his old neighborhood. It's freaks me out. From the ceiling he hangs two wooden planes with teddy bears in them, I have no story for those, but I added a space shuttle on two strings from the ceiling to remind me of my dad and the job he had when I was growing up.

Q: decorating christmas tree ideas?
What Color Christmas Tree Ornaments can be hung on a pink 4ft. fushia Christmas tree.

A: I saw a Pink tree with black, pink and white ornaments. I was really cool looking.

Q: Does anybody know a movie about a red Christmas tree ornament?
I remember it from when I was younger, but I cannot recall the title or very much of the plot. I know that the ornament was supposed to be small red glass ball and chosen by a little boy. As the years went on, it got old and finally fell from the tree.

A: I think it was called Holly the Ornament... she is left alone and then someone buys her and she gets to go on tree and what not if i am not mistaken...

Q: What else can I put on Christmas tree with gingerbread ornaments?
I am using white lights. What else matches?

A: candy canes....and make your popcorn strings with fruit loop cereal interspaced with the popcorn...has a candy-like look to it and far less messy than cranberries....little mini lollipops with tiny red ribbons or red yarn tied in a bow on the stick. Have Fun....

Q: What are some tricks for putting heavy ornaments on a Christmas tree?
Any suggestions for strengthening the branch, or tools/attachments for supporting a heavy ornament?

A: either put the ornament further back on a branch or multiple branches or actually rest the ornament on the branch instead of hanging it

Q: Would Tampax make cute Christmas tree ornaments?
Those little strings make it so easy to hang on the tree...

A: It makes sooo much sense! You can dip em in Easter egg dye even. And those colored condoms would be lavishly cute too! What about IUD's? Oh, the possibilities are endless. You are our Martha Stewart!

Q: where can i sell hallmark christmas tree ornaments?

A: Ebay and Craigslist are to good places. You might also want to look into hookedonhallmark.com to sell or for a good price guide. Keep in mind though that some of the prices on this website seem inflated. I have bought items off ebay for far less then what's on the website. Good luck!

Q: How do i keep my 1yr old dog from stealing ornaments off the christmas tree?

A: Don't put ornaments within "reach".... Might look silly when he's 10, but you should only need to do it when they are under two years old....
