Q: How do you fix a broken pre-lit Christmas tree in-line function box?
I have a pre-lit tree we bought last year. All the lights stopped working and I checked the main fuse, it was ok. We unplugged all the plugs from the 7-function in-line function box and re-plugged them into an extension cord and all the lines work. Is there a fuse or something inside the box we could replace? Will one of the those new light fixer guns work on it?
A: There are two fuses in each plug (mine anyway)
Q: How do I connect the plugs on my pre-lit christmas tree in the right order?
There are 3 sections to the tree, there are about 6 plugs, and one plug is an extension, and one plug only has a female end.
A: very weird situation, looks like a cable orgy to me! you can hook up any with any it should work.
Q: How can i get lights to work on a pre-lit Christmas tree? Some work some don't.?
I have checked the obvious. The fuses and bulbs. If a bulb is burnt out the others will still work on that "strand".
A: They will work.
Not in the old days though.
You can replace the bulbs, on most sets, but that costs more than new sets. Experience.
Q: Where can I find instructions for hooking up a Martha Stewart pre-lit Christmas tree?
Better yet, does anyone have a copy they could copy & send? Mine is a 7' (maybe 7 1/2') prelit tree I got at K-Mart last year for $79.99. I thought it would be a simple matter to connect the lights this year (without the instructions) but it's a real puzzle. Help!
A: Well if you saved the instructions from the tree when you bought it then it should be a sinch to put together. If not, then go to martha stewarts website to see if there are any instructions on there for the trees.
Q: On a pre-lit Christmas tree how can one strand of lights keep burning out all the bulbs on that strand?
A: Sounds like it's shorting out some where. You could take the time to trouble shoot it or take the quick approach and change out the strand.
Q: i just bought a pre lit christmas tree and the bottom half doesn't work. help?
the tree is only about 4 feet tall, and the bottom doesn't light up when i plug it in. it says on the box that if one light goes out not all of the rest will. what can i do to fix it?
A: It's early enough, just take it back and exchange it for another one. Good luck.
Q: My entire light strand on my my pre-lit christmas tree does not work and i replced the fuses, what can be wron
A: If it's the type that doesn't allow the lights on when one bulb is jacked, that's a pain.
If it's not, then the problem is in the cord/connector itself. The smart thing would be to get another one from the same store.
Q: christmas lights on pre-lit tree....section has burned out. help?
I have a pre-lit 6 foot christmas tree I just bought from some stranger and when I set it up I realized that the middle section of the tree has burnt out lights. The top and the very bottom still light up. I don't know how to fix this. What should I do? Can I remove the strands with wire cutters and apply my own new strand of lights? Please be detailed. I've never had this problem before. Thank you!
A: Sounds like the three sections are wired in parallel, but the light bulbs themselves are in series.
You could just try replacing one bulb at a time until you find the one that's burnt out (it's going to be near the beginning of the strand).
Q: Why are so many bulbs burnt out on my artificial pre-lit Christmas tree?
I bought an artificial pre-lit tree at Home Depot about 4 years ago. I think it has about 700-1000 lights, but we threw out the box last year. I put the tree up last weekend and over the week, I noticed lots of lights were out. Today on closer inspection, I noticed some branches (the lighting), all on the same level, are out completely. All the lights that are out have a darker shade inside the bulb; a burnt out look to them. I tried putting "good" lights in the burnt out sockets, but they don't light. Is it possible to have a section of the lights not work, maybe due to wiring? The dead bulbs don't work in "good" sockets, either. I don't know much about electrical, but is this common? The tree supposedly has that feature where even if a bulb is burnt out the rest of the string will work. I'm just so frustrated because I can see the non-lit patches on the tree and I don't want it up like that.
A: go get a bulb tester and run it along the line while the cord is powerd up will beep then stop beeping when that bulb is burnt out
You can always replace the strings that are bad but they have twist ties all over.
Please email me if you need help very handy.Geo
Q: Pre-Lit Christmas tree won't light!?
Our 9 foot pre-lit Christmas tree we bought 2 years ago won't light. Some of the branches light up but we have full sections that won't light...Any ideas??
A: either the connections in the branches are not connecting or the tree is drying. They really don't last long.
Q: assembly of pre lit Christmas tree 3 sections 700 light?
bought used not sure how to connect sections
A: The biggest part is the bottom, the medium size is the middle, and the pointy part is the top. Plug them all together and presto.
I'm sorry if i sound like a smarta**. I dont mean to, i have the same tree. Good luck and Merry Christmas.
Q: how to assemble pre-lit christmas trees?
we bought a christmas tree last year pre-lit , but we took it apart and can't put it together again.
A: read the instructions
Q: I need help with a pre-lit tree!?
I bought a 7 1/2 ft. Trim A Home pre-lit christmas tree from a yard sale(originally sold from KMart). I am having trouble finding where to plug each section, as there are no instructions-already tried to find their web site. No luck.
A: keep trying! just remember to plug each section into the one below it. get some masking tape and mark the plugs you find when apart, then try and put them together
Q: Poll: Pre-Lit Christmas Tree, Artificial Christmas Tree or Real Christmas Tree?
Which do you prefer? Opinions?
A: I prefer a Pre-Lit, Artificial Christmas tree. They are safer, already lighted, easier to handle, lasts longer, and better for the environment.
Q: I purchased a "pre-lit" Christmas tree last year...and I noticed the lights at the top are already going out..
can't take it back to the store where purchased...and the lights are on a flocked (snow) tree...so they will never match.
A: Try going through each bulb and checking them all out see if you have any bad bulbs.
If there is a bad bulb replace it with another one.
Also check the fuses to make sure they are okay.
