Q: What's the best way to attach small sequins and beads to cards or scrapbooks?
Hi Just starting out with cardmaking and have got some embellishment kits. These include some very delicate items like tiny white beads with holes in and various sequins. Do I attach these to cards with double-sided tape, foam pads, pritt stick, pva or something else? Any tips on this would be appreciated. Many thanks for your time.

A: Attach them with glue but to make it easier, use a paintbrush. Simply dip the fine paintbrush (only a little) into the glue and dab it onto whatever area you like. Then to attach them use tweezers (clean ones). This leaves you with a clean and polished card or scrapbook page!!! :)

Q: Where can i get scrapbooks really cheap?
I took a trip with my close's friends because I'm moving out of state. We took a trip to Yosemite. I'm from Central-Northern California. is there anywhere where i can go to get ideas for scrapbooking and cheap supplies?

A: In general, scrapbooking supplies will not be cheap. Most are expensive, even at Walmart. I advise that you be creative and make your own supplies. Dollar stores & office supply stores will get you started. Also, for ideas visit www.memorymakers.com They have an online idea gallery. Good Luck

Q: How much is it for digital scrapbooks on DVD?
I wouldl ike to know the prices to get a digital scrapbook on a DVD

A: About 15 Euro in parts of Europe

Q: What do antique scrapbooks or albums usually look like? :D?
I'm doing a project on a scrapbook that dates about World War 2 which is around the 1940s. I really don't know what they put in their scrapbooks then or how they decorated them. The setting of the scrapbook is in the Philippines, by the way. Help please! :D

A: The paper pages were also black, and they usually used the black photo cornors to hold pictures in place. Often times they place mementos on the page, like ribbons, programs, dryed flowers etc. Can you rent the DVD the Ya-Ya Sisterhood? The title screens on the DVD are done like a 40s scrapbook. .

Q: What do you use for letters and titles in your scrapbooks? Also looking for general tips and ideas!?
I am kind of tired of most ABC stickers, plus they're too small for a lot of my pages and look lost. I am not good at creating my own letters and cutting those out; I was thinking of printing titles/letters on the computer and cutting those out? I have also seen "chipboard letters." What are those? Also, I am a fairly new scrapbooker, any tips or ideas are appreciated!

A: You can print out titles on your computer and cut them out. It's flexible and economical. If you find that you like to use titles a lot you can invest in a cutting system - there are tons out there - some that include computers and some that are manual. I've been using chipboard letters a lot lately. In my regular paper scrapping and digi too. They are thin die-cut letters of a thin cardboard-type material. They can usually be covered with paper, inked with stamp pads and altered in many other ways. If you want to start out slowly, just use a chipboard monogram as the first letter of your title or name to make it "pop". Good luck!

Q: What's the best way to store very old photographs, scrapbooks, and letters?
None of it is valuable, just family stuff. How can we preserve it the best? Large plastic/ziplock bags? Plastic boxes? Binders with plastic sleeves over each letter? Thanks. I purchased 3 ring binders and plastic presentation sheets. I put each letter in a seperate protection sheet. Was this a good idea, or a bad idea? Where should I store *EXISTING* scrapbooks?

A: 1.Scan everything and store it digitally on CD 2. Get archival sheets that keep each picture separate. 3. Do the same with the negatives 4. Sort and throw out the stuff that's useless. 5. Never store your items at ground level. They are susceptible to damage if the room is flooded. NOTE: CD's are a time-limited solution. The life span of a CD is incredibly short - maybe 10 years tops. Q: Im looking for the scrapbooks that dont load from the top but that are the sticky ones with flaps.?
Theyre the old school ones we all have photo albums with. Know where I can get em? Ive looked at every scrapbook store and they only have the top load ones as the ones Im looking for are old. Where can I find them online?

A: You can still find them in stores - I know that WalMart and Target both carry them. But they are usually in the section with photo frames, not in the scrapbook aisle.

Q: I have a couple of ideas for baby books and scrapbooks. Who could help me implement my ideas?
I have tried searching for publishers of these items but they all seem to sell their products for a lot more than I would like. I would like to market these in hospital gift shops, etc. for a reasonable price. Any ideas from anyone? I'm also concerned about sharing too many details with the wrong people who might hijack the idea.

A: You're best bet is to have your own website or ebay store to start out.. you can then move to gift shops if you have high popularity.

Q: I would like to make personalized scrapbooks for people. How do I get started using the internet?

A: Do you want to know how to get started selling them... or making them? For advice/ideas on creating them, I love www.scrapbook.com. As for selling... I know there is at least some demand for this -- so many people who love the look of scrapbooks but lack (or think they lack) the creativity or time to produce one.... Check out eBay: it's a good place to start without having to deal with the startup costs of an online business. There are a few personalized scrapbook sellers already on ebay. Their approach seems to be to post a few semi-personalized albums online to see what people like and how much they are willing to pay. I've seen mini-books go for $30ish. In the content/title of your ebay listing, mention that your creations are customizable. After you've sold a few, consider making the auction for a "personalized/customized scrapbook X number of pages" where "you choose the theme and papers" -- something like that, depending on how far you want to go and how much control you're willing to cede. When you're ready to build your business, consider using Yahoo! stores or something similar. This would offer some level of security to both you and the customer while helping you create and maintain your virtual storefront and those annoying ecommerce aspects of your online presence. Good luck.

Q: where can i find someone who makes custom scrapbooks?
I have no talent to make them but I want to scrapbook my wedding etc. I am looking for someone who I can send my pics too, and they can do it for me. I want it too look really awesome with lots of embellishments etc. Thanks: )

A: Please don't send your photo album away to have it done, you take the chance of losing your precious moments. If you really want someone to do it go to a local scrapbook store and ask the owner for someone local talent. They are the ones that know who is and who isn't in your community. If worse come to worse take the time and however long it takes to do it yourself. You will be glad that you did.

Q: what online photo store is the cheapest to buy and make memory books?? [scrapbooks]?
I love making memory books online. a lot of online websites offer it, like walmart, shutterfly, and etc. which one do you think it the best to buy from, and the cheapest? im looking for the best deal! thanks!

A: www.ScraplessBooks.com This is by far the BEST form of online scrapbooking available, and the price is not too bad either. Other memory book sites (wal-mart, shutterfly, and others)offer completely templated designs with very little freedom for personal expression (such as backgrounds and embellishments). Heritage Makers (www.scraplessbooks.com) is a web-based scrapbooking studio with which you can create vitually anything you could create by hand (traditional scrapbooking). There are over 50,000 pieces of artwork to choose from and new stuff is added monthly. Artwork includes, but is not limited to: backgrounds (card stock, papers), ribbon, buttons, brads, text/fonts, quotes, hinges, tape, staples, clips, jewels, tags, word art, alphabets, and so on. Most of the artwork comes from Scrap Girls, and some of it is in collections, there are also tons of templates available--and not the plain, boring, black and white ones either--these are created by other users and have a theme. Such as a wedding, a new baby, a life story of a loved one passed, a pet story, a family vacation, and so on. The possibilities are endless with this company. One of the best aspects though is this: Heritage Makers is an at-home-celebration kind of company, so if you decide to host a celebration, you could earn TONS of FREE products! At-home-celebrations are not the only option either, you may decide to do a virtual celebration instead--the rewards are the same either way. If you would like any further details, please contact me, I am an independent consultant for Heritage Makers and I can email you all the current specials and promotions and answer any questions you have. Just to let you know how easy it is to get free stuff (they are very generous), I have done four books, and not paid for even one (except shipping, of course)! Q: For scrapbooks, should I use the white insert page they give you in the bought scrapbook?
Just wondering, I probably will just use the inserts as scraps for my album

A: I rarely use them personally-unless like someone stated, I have a very thin patterned paper that I want to use as my background, then I'll adhere it to the white insert so it's sturdy. They are great for customizing accents - you can use chalks or inks (among other things) to customize die cuts, free-hand accents, etc. Use them with an envelope template also for homemade cards, you can stamp on them to coordinate with your card. Good thing they're so versatile cause don't we end up with so many of them!!?

Q: What is the best way to preserve OLD photographs and scrapbooks from before WWII... and postacards from 1910?
I have a bunch of stuff recently acquired from my family that I want to preserve in the best possible fashion what should I do... The scrapbook I do not want to take apart since it was put together my my great-grandmother in the 1930's

A: I have a small collection of old postcards and paper money, and let me share with you what I have been using to protect them. For the paper money and old postcards, and I guess the same applies to old photos, I would normally insert them into thick OPP plastic sheets of the exact size, then place each of the OPP-protected items onto Prinz stock cards. Like this one here: http://www.michaelkay.co.uk/stamp/sts/prinzsystem.htm I would then insert these Prinz stock cards into folders. As for the scrapbook, I have no experience on how to protect it, but using the same method of protecting books, you could place mothballs near your book to protect it from silverfishes.

Q: Are there any websites where I can print out free patterned paper for scrapbooks?
I know you can buy it but I'm broke...so I'm hoping there's a website where I can print it out for free.

A: freedigitalscrapbooking.com http://cp.c-ij.com/english/ scrapbookflair.com scrapbookscrapbook and lots more just type in scrapbook printable papers free but if you do not have a printer that can print on A3 paper then you will only be able to print it out at A4 or letter sizes
