Q: What happens if you don't use acid free pens in scrapbooking?
I don't have any acid free pens. why can't i use a normal pen on scrapbooking paper I'm not writing on pictures just the paper. SO does that matter?

A: You can use anything you want. The reason for acid-free paper and inks is that acids will slowly deteriorate the paper. It will fall apart. You may not know this, but many of our old books that are in storage are just crumbling to powder. They were not made with enough attention to long-term life. If you want to use your scrapbook for yourself, there is no problem. If you are wanting to make something that is going to be kept by your grandchildren and great-grandchildren, then you want to make sure you use good quality paper and inks and glues and anything else you use. Most of us don't keep many things beyond the life of the owner. Do you have anything from your grandmother? Your mother? Do you think your grandchildren or great-grandchildren will care too much about what you are doing now, or will even know who you were? It's a sad statement on how much we value our families. Create what you want for yourself. I don't think you need to worry how long it will last -- or whether it gets into the Museum of Man.

Q: Could someone please suggest a good site for downloading free digital scrapbooking items?
I tried looking myself, but every site I found had some sort of a catch with it. So any help would really be appreciated.

A: It is really hard to find anything. the only site i have ever been able to find that has any free scrapbooking stuff is Creative Park, its a site through Canon but you can find it by typing creative park into google (it should be the first one that comes up). unfortunately i think its all stuff for free download not digital stuff but i hope this helps.

Q: Is there a good free site for scrapbooking?
Is there a free site for creating online scrapbook pages. Or at least a download program to try with an original free trial?

A: CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com lets you create your digital scrapbook pages online. Upload your photos. Choose a canvas size. You can use CropMom's graphics to embellish your pages. You can add your own text. CropMom is free to use. If you like what you've created, you can purchase the high-resolution JPEG files to print at home or to have printed by a photo service. This is a great way to try digital scrapbooking without making a huge investment in digital scrapbooking software and in digital scrapbooking kits.

Q: does anyone know of any free computer scrapbooking programs i can download??
any sites where i can download free scrapbooking programs for my computer??????????

A: I do alot of digital scrapbooking and use Scrapbook Factory by Art Explosion. I think it costs about 30 bucks and is really easy to use. I've never used any of the links below and may give them a try since I just found them. They're supposed to be totally free.

Q: Cheap or free scrapbooking?
I love to scrapbook but it seems like everything is so expensive and we are on a short budget. Anywhere we can get it cheap or free? Also, any tips?

A: I agree dollar stores have nice things, big lots and EBAY, if you look. I have found some wonderful things at those places, I would never pay retail for scrapbooking supplies, you can find them cheaper if you shop around. Also you can use paper clips or other stationary items as embellishments and that would be low cost also. Sometimes the things you use that you wouldn't expect to see on a scrapbook page make the best pages.

I was able to print tons of printable paper and designs. Good luck and best wishes to you and your little boys.

Q: Are there any good/FREE sites that offer scrapbooking ideas/templates?
I am making a scrapbook of my boyfriend and I. Also any suggestions or love quotes would be nice. Thanks!!

A: I have a digital scrapbooking site with links to tons of resources. I have freebies in the forum. However, the best places to find freebies are with the Freebie Hunters -- there are people who go out and hunt down freebies and make long lists of links to those places on their blogs. The list of Freebie Hunters that I am aware of are in the sidebar of my blog. http://blog.hummiesworld.com
