Q: Where do i find a purple scrapbook album?
I would like an 8.5 x10 or 8x8 not top loading with the screws. Im looking for the type of album that creative memories makes. It needs to be a dark pruple.

A: I don't think I've ever seen a dark purple scrapbook. If you've already tried Hobby Lobby and Michaels, find a Scrapbook store locally and go see what they have in stock. They may be able to order a certain color for you. Other than that, you could try using fabric paint on a light beige book. Get a large bottle and use a wide natural brush and brush it on lightly until you have the shade you want. Test the color on something else first to see how it dries.

Q: What color scheme would you recommend for the Once Upon A Time album.scrapbook?
Although I think the matching paper is cute, I don't want to go too overboard with the fairytale scheme. I want it to be something that my fiancee and I can both enjoy, and I think paper with knights and princesses on it may drive him crazy, so...I was thinking I would go with something simple. What paper designs or colors would you recommend using for this album?

A: There is actually a paper stack called Once Upon a Time. It has a fairytale theme but some of the paper isn't all knight and princesses. It has other things too. If you want that fairy tale theme without getting too "kiddified" you can look for papers with a more calligraphy background. Also buying a paper collection in jewel tones could help. That has a variety of blues, browns and burgandy. Glitter is always a possibility. I have included two sites to check to look at some of the paper, but these are NOT endorsements for the shopping sites. Just a location for you to look at the paper. If I cana help you any more throw me an IM

Q: Where to buy photo album/scrapbook in melbourne? Also ideas?
Hello! I would like to make a photo album/scrapbook to give to my boyfriend for our 1 year. I want to put photos aswell as other bits and pieces i've collected along the way...like postcards and maps. Is there a special name for what im looking for? Does anyone know anywhere in Melbourne that I might find one? Any ideas for sticking the pieces in the album? Anything else you can help with? Thanks heaps! :)

A: Hi, I'm answering this for my husband as he said it is more up my ally! I have been a Creative Memories Consultant for 7 years and live in Melbourne. At the moment I am taking a few months off (deactivated) but still have quite a lot of stock, and can help you learn to but albums together. If you are interested please e-mail my husband's e - address! I would be happy to help and do give a small discount on the regular price.

Q: Math wizards: I need a formula for calculating number of pages in a scrapbook album?
Ok, I am a scrapbooker. I make albums using the double page layout style. This means pages facing each other are one layout, theme, picture event (ie birthday, camping, vacation, etc.). Not counting the first page in the book or the last page, how can I figure out how many individual pages I will need if I know that I will have X number of events in my album. One more detail. pages are used back to back. this means that if I have two double page layouts I only need 3 actual pages because the middle page front and back acts as one-half of each layout. Thanks for not making me reach far back in my brain and dig out the algebra! :)

A: Well, you want 2x faces (since you need two faces per event). And each page yields 2 faces (front and back), so you need at least X sheets of paper. But you don't use the front of the first or the back of the last, so you need to add 1, thus you need X+1 sheets of paper for X themes.

Q: Custom Scrapbook Album Covers?
I'm making a scrapbook that I would like to title "Anaheim Ducks Quest for the Cup" with the new Ducks logo, etc but I want it to be like ON the album, does anyone know of any websites I can order something like this on (I want a size 12x12 cause I found one with size like 12x9 or something.) Help is appreciated and Thanks ahead of time.

A: what you can do is this: go to michaels buy a scrapbook album that is made out of "fabric", not leather or fake leather, but a fabric material, and yes they do have them... get a pack of iron on transfers, but get the "fabric" transfers... on the wilton/michaels brand of transfers they have a website where you can create and print out the image on the transfer. so hopefully you can copy and paste an image if you see one that you like wherever, and go from there. I bought a plain fabric scrap album, and i used the iron transfer and printed a pic of my daughter.. got some cheapy craft paint and blotted it with a paint sponge, and added ribbon, and it came out cute!!! But you want something to order, you might have to go on Ebay for something like that.

Q: how many sheet protector refill pages can you put in a scrapbook album?

A: It really depends on the brand and type of scrapbook, as some are sturdier and better quality. I've heard that a general rule of thumb is 2 packs of refills (20 page protectors), plus the original 10 the album probably came with, which makes 60 pages total/30 page protectors. However, if you use lots of bulky embellishments--like chipboard, foam adhesive, metal, etc...then 20-30 pages is more likely. I prefer to use only about 40 pages per album max, as beyond that the album gets really thick and heavy. It's always a good idea to add at least 1-2 foam or cardboard spacers to the binding of post-bound albums for each pack of 10 refills. That adds space between the pages, so they will lie more flat.

Q: Do they make scrapbook albums for Autumn Weddings?
I had a beautiful Autumn Wedding just last month and I can't find any scrapbook albums that incorporate both! I really can't even find any Autumn albums at all. There are plenty of wedding albums but there aren't any that go with my wedding at all! Please Help!

A: I can imagine an Autumn wedding was gorgeous! What colors did you use? I love Creative Memories products and even became a consultant. I think the new colors of our albums would provide a perfect solution to your question. CM makes the highest quality albums and there is a new line just released called Serenity that includes colors that remind me of Fall. I'd love to help you!

Q: Making an 8 x 8, 3 ring scrapbook album. Does anyone have info?
I need an 8x8 3 ring album and can't find one. Does anyone have any idea the best way to make one. Would it be possible to cut a larger one and cover it? Let me know your ideals. I need a 3 ring for the ease of adding pages later. Needs to look really nice. Thanks

A: Try DIYNET.com and check out Scrapbooking. Sandy always has some cool ideas. Or you could go to a craft store and buy chip board ( like card board ) and cover it with fabric or paper or whatever. Punch three holes in it for front and the back covers and purchase the rings loose. Or try hobbylobby.com or Michaels.com or http://www.albumsource.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/index.html?E+scstore or http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=40754&rId=GOOGPCSBTERM&gclid=CP6T0fb8lYgCFRZXWAodZBYtGg

Q: I use a Mac. What is the BEST online photo album site that I can custom make my own scrapbook?
Prefer one with many scrapbook options. Prefer one where I don't have to download any software. Not Kodak, please. Or Picasa or Iphoto. I am aware of these. I am looking for something with more options and easy to use and great printing quality.

Q: How do I make a scrapbook cover using a transperancy?
I recently purchased this amazing 12 x 12 transperancy for my scrapbook album, but would like to use it as my cover. I have no idea what type of scrapbook album to buy and how I would be able to make it stick. I don't want to use a 3 ring binder with a clear cover... I want something more classy. I would like to make this album my own unique piece of memories. Please help!

A: I would get a chip board album. They come in all different sizes. Even 12x12. You can get them at your local craft store or look on line. You can go to google and type in "chip board albums". A ton of sites will pop up that have them for sale. They are made specially for scrapping the cover. It depends on what the transparency looks like but you could possibly use vellum tape to adhere it or a clear drying glue. I hope this helps.

Q: Where can I find a 12x12 postbound scrapbook album that holds about 75 pages?
I've searched the Internet far and wide but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I need a postbound scrapbook album that is expandable enough to hold at maximum 75 pages (150 layouts). The thing is, it must be 12x12. I've seen some jumbo scrapbooks but the specs do not say about how many pages is the limit and usually they are not the right dimensions. Does anyone own a 12x12 postbound album that holds this many pages? If so, can you tell me where I can buy one? I'm making a grand summer scrapbook so I'm trying to find one with a summery, light front-cover color. I'd really like to avoid the official looking black, tan, and navy blues. Anything with a light color or pattern is fine as this is supposed to be a fun album. If anyone can post links to what I'm looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A: Greetings! I am holding a scrapbook I purchased in Feb 2008 at JoAnn's in FL that seems to meet your requirements. It is made by Colorbok and is called 'The Perfect Scrapbook.' It comes in diff colors, I bought the delphinium (pale blue/seafoam) as I'm using it for a baby album. It still has the label on it, and it says: Expandable spine that accommodates up to 70 sheet protectors- 140 'real' scrapbook pages. I would think you cuold probably squeeze in a couple more, if needed. The model number is 15769. UPC code is 765468-157696. (I copied all the digits on the UPC, you may not need them all, I don't know)

Q: Martha Stewart expandable 12x12 Scrapbook album?
I have a Martha Stewart brand expandable 12x12 black scrapbook album that I got at Michaels. You're supposed to be able to take-Im assuming a screwdriver-undo the screws, and put in more page protectors, which I also purchased. I am having the DARNDEST time unscrewing those screwy little things! It like the metal is so soft that the screw is wearing down every time I try to turn it, so basically its not opening. Anyone else having this problem? What the heck should I do? Why in the heck wouldnt this thing work? UGH! Im trying to get organized, and this isnt helping....

A: I'm probably not much help to you, I would recommend that you return it. When I started scrapping I thought I would do expansions, but I NEVER do now because of that very problem!!!! I find I get a lot of satisfaction out of FINISHING an album now. I take a topic or a time frame and make that a single book and then move to the next. Hope that helps.

Q: How do you decided what to put in each scrapbook?
I scrapbook everything but my question is do you make like a birthday's scrapbook album or a weekend trips album that kinda of thing or do you make all of them go in order? I can't decide what I want to do

A: well for me each of my children have their own books. One that looks at just their first year of life and the other is laid out in categories. I have a family book. I also have a book that shows just the vacations that we go on. As my kids start school they will have a scrapbook for their school years along with their regular book. It is up to the individual on what they want to put into the books.
