Q: What the best way to layout a Graphic Design research/scrapbook file?
Hi i am a university student and we have to keep a running journal/scrapbook/research file on anything we find interesting and how we came up with ideas for assignment briefs. i want mine to look professional, so that if i go to a job interview they can see my research. i dont want to use a plain a4 binder and i dont want to do the obvious college/highschool thing of writing everything about what i did with a stuck in picture underneath it. Is their a way i can do it, or is their any links/books of ideas that people have done this?

A: Hey Alison, There are always many ways to organize any research or scrapbook. You can organize it for impact, if read from the front to the back, and you can put interesting closing designs, for those that will flip backwards. You can organize so you can find things easily, using a Table of Contents, list of illustrations too. You could organize chronologically but that may have no meaning to anyone but you. A: Creative Memories has a free software with which you can create storybooks. The layouts are already created for you - you just drag & drop pics. There is a $60 version (Storybook Creator Plus) which allows you to create your own layouts. Very user friendly.

A friend of mine and I have been doing some research on things we could do at home to make a little extra money. We've decided to go with scrapbooking. If you wanted your pictures arranged in a beautiful scrapbook but didn't have time to work on something like that yourself, what kind of products would you be interested in buying? Our ideas so far have been 1) to accept custom orders, where customers would send in 3-4 pictures with information for each 2 page spread, and my friend and I would arrange everything with backgrounds, mats, embellishments, journaling... 2) to create ready made scrapbook pages. The backgrounds, photo mats, and embellishments would be in place, and the customer would chose which layouts he/she wanted to purchase, then add their own pictures and journaling. A: yes maam! i made one for my bf this weekend. I just went to Michael's a hobby store and got different colored papers and pasted random love quotes on them. i cut out some hearts, ribbons, and pictures of me and my bf and pasted them on different papers. Thats all u need to do. i even found fake flowers and put a few here and there just to spice things up.

I am a quadriplegic and I would like to make a scrapbook of my daughter to give to my mother for Christmas. I can not use my hands but I do have a voice activated computer. A: My friend is a Creative Memories Consultant and they have a website where you can create a custom scrapbook online and publish it too. I don't know her personal link, but here is the generic one. ADDED: Oh, I should mention, while it is not "cheap" I've seen one she had printed and bound (published) of her children and it turned out fantastic. Well worth it.

Q: How to gain more interest in my scrapbook group?
Ive had another group for awhile and decided to make the wholesale buying group separate from the ideas, challenges and swaps group. I am looking for ideas to keep the group busy. So far I have weekly sketch challenges, scrapbook tips day, introduce a new product, swaps, monthly layout challenge. We give prizes and such.
